Some politicians make the mistake of placing party before country and the present situation in the New National Party (NNP) makes it difficult for anyone to tell on which side of the fence some of the party's leadership lies. Who in the NNP's hierarchy could make a presentation like The Honourable Peter David? Emmalin Pierre's turn to lead NNP might lie somewhere in the future but any machinations to anoint her for the leadership of the party at the expense of a stalwart like Peter is tantamount to cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.
