Her high notes are so gracefully executed, most singers would thin out, but Adele maintains the grit, power, richness, and buttery tone in those high belts! I just love the thickness and enormous sound that Adele can produce! This album really gravitated towards a new era in Adele's life (compared to 21 and 25), which I enjoyed as this album didn't seem as repetitive compared to her previous albums!! Her songwriting skills are amazing and underrated as well, we should praise her more for this!!

For me personally, this song is about having the clarity to understand the effects of my choices, and how I've hurt other people in the process. I've always wanted to reach out to an ex of mine, even though it has been many years since we broke up. This made me cry, very beautifully said, and 'take it easy on me' I think applies to ourselves most of the time, because we are our own worst critics. We all grow and change with everything we experience, I think, if you can, reach out to your ex, if you hear back, or if you don't, at least you'll know, and be kind to yourself too.
In an interview, Adele had said how she wanted to communicate about her decision of divorce to her son later in life through this album. This song resonates with me and touches me so deeply because I know my mom went through the same phase during her divorce and it was soul wrenching to just see her like that. I am so so grateful to God for giving her the strength to start anew and find happiness and I wish the same resilience and strength for everyone who goes through the same kind of pain. They were 18 when they had their first child and now listening to this song at 23 has helped me understand my mom so much better she was so young and hadn’t experienced so many things. I love that this is a song that asks someone to try to see why you are claiming yourself again after being immersed in their world at the expense of your own happiness. I think it's quite clever that it seems to be asking forgiveness not only from another, but also somehow captures how sometimes we feel we have to forgive ourselves for putting ourselves first. At least that's how I interpret it. Beautiful both musically and lyrically.
