Suga and especially RM were famous in the underground scene. Suga actually heard about RM before joining BigHit/BTS from online sites, like forums and social media. Dude was considered a rap prodigy with his killer lyricism. RM said that he really got into rap around like 13.
J-Hope has amazing flow; Suga has killer delivery; and RM's lyrics will make you need Google, a dictionary, and Wikipedia to fully understand how far he buried you.

RM started rapping at like age twelve, if I remember correctly. He started writing poems and then lyrics and became involved with the Korean underground scene. Suga liked composing songs and played piano, he started writing lyrics and songs from a young age. J-hope was an underground dancer and only started rapping when he joined bts around 2011/2, so when he was 16/17.
RM’s word play comes to an incredible standard in Ddaeng, but it’s hard to understand for non-Korean speaking people. The live performance for Ddaeng is also amazing. Outro: Tear also has amazing wordplay, but it’s even better when you read the lyrics, cuz this one hits you.
So the gist is that these Cyphers and other diss like songs by BTS where they mention haters are those (specifically underground rappers) that trash talked them saying idol rappers like them aren't real rappers or artists since they're idols. So basically they like to diss those that look down upon their artistry as idols and such. They often criticize music/business industries in many of their songs along with criticizing society too. But for Cypher 2 specifically it's for the underground rappers that were offensive and arrogant towards BTS rappers claiming they know hip hop and all

aiii so boom RM.... i gotta say he really started rapping back in ‘07 around 13 years old after listening to epik high (Legendssss) and being introduced to eminem. he started off as an under group rapper so he would rap in hip hop circles and at the time went under the name “Runch Randa” (he actually quoted his former name in cypher pt 1 if you remember that part) there’s still actually some of his old mixtapes and albums from when he went by runch randa (it’s adorable how high his voice use to be compared to now) on youtube
and yesss he’s super smart a genius’s iq usually ranges between 140-145 (i think) but rm has an iq of 148 back in school he topped in the 1% of the nation in the university exams
it’s crazy because with a brain like that he could’ve easily gotten any job and most likely live a good life but he chose to follow his passion and struggle with his members in the beginning being hated on by others etc; leading them (with their help as well) to where they are today

To be exact be now we understand why cyphers like these are so child’s play to him and that’s cause he’s been consistently practicing and honing in on this talent for years and now very well as to be called the best rapper in kpop 👀 and we can definitely sense the Eminem flow there and it’s great we hope this genius of an artist goes forever 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

that intense rap with crazy genius lyrics, suga is all about reality and slaps facts on your face.Even the beat changes its tempo for suga. And when he went eminem on the beat, even they had to stop the beat to appreciate his flow. Suga is rap king , a true hip hop artist *PERIOD*
RM is the best tbh. He is a versatile rapper, he switches from korean to english with ease, his amazing rap flow, cadence and his lyrical range/wordplay is immense. He has a very high IQ of 148 GENIUS LEVEL as well as EQ, which is rare. He is very kind, selfless and a humble person. He is also the biggest contributor (writer, composer, producer, etc.) to the BTS music discography while being the best leader and brother to his BTS members. During Yoongi’s part ( Suga’s ) he only was breathing for about 10 seconds. I find it ridiculous and he really deserves attention for that since that’s mad. It might be because he’s my bias but seriously he needs some acknowledgement for that.
He's also my bias along with J-hope and Namjoon is my bias wrecker. I see everyone talking about RM and it's cool since his word play and flow is great. I think Suga's rapid fire was great but not much people acknowledge it and I think J-hope deserves more attention too

RM is a master craftsman, flow and lyrics. He owns them. Yoongi, delivers with speed and aggression and JHope is the hype man with his Drake-like melodic delivery. RM is a genius. I don’t remember this, but it’s crazy because I was happy watching this and I’m sick do history repeats itself.
Hands down, cypher 2 is my favorite. I understand why people like 4 the most, bc its definitely them at the height of their rap game, but this one is so grungy and hard hitting and has so many "I need to recover from that line" moments. Also, Ddaeng is considered by some to be the unofficial 5th cypher. You'll need to watch the "explained by a korean" video too, tho, if you react to it, bc it's full of puns and sarcasm that just don't translate.
