The Aglio e olio is a good one because it’s a quick easy pasta. Hey if haters want to hate all the garlic then don’t put so much in the dish. The cheats on the charred ramen is on other one I love because I ate ramen in college like 3 times per week. I love the use of Mirin in infusing the chicken with flavor and getting it seared nice and dark. And it has all the ingredients that you can use I. Other dishes after you make the ramen. The farm house soup all with its thick luscious ness of leeks and potato to thicken is fantastic. Who cares if you did not grow up on a farm. I love all of your recipes. Those are my top 3 recipes. ! Merry Christmas!
I wish we could buy fresh basil in such decent quantities from our shopping centres here, instead we buy it in tiny packets and it costs a fortune, all herbs are sold like this.
I believe that Donal has made a deal with the devil, not only is he too good looking, every single recipe is something you think you can make and like. That shouldn't be possible. I've binged almost all his stuff and they are all great. My plan for 2021 looks like this: 1. 4 days Gousto 2. 1 day roast (me on Sunday) 3. 1 day mums food (don't ask) 4. 1 day a recipe from Donal I'll also keep a diary of what i make so the kids have something for later or for the remnants of humanity devastated by covid mutations.
REALLY nice selection of recipes, however I did find it funny how you kept referring to wanting winter comfort food when in Australia we are in the middle of summer though a particularly mild one.
I made the beef stew with cheddar dumplings. LOVED it except for the piece of meat I bought. Even though it cooked a long time and flaked apart it was tough (each fiber was tough). I will definitely make it again but use a chuck roast! The dumplings/biscuits are SOOOOO good!
We do not seem to have SR flour in Canada, do I just use all purpose with baking powder. sorry i am not much use with baking, i am more a chuck it all in kind of person
I love SR flour - because I will occasionally forget to add a leavening ingredient to my dry mix #bakingwhileexhausted. You just have to add a couple pinches of baking powder and a little salt to your flour. I don't remember the exact amounts - I kind just eyeball it- but I'm sure some kind soul has put it on the internet!
@@beverleinichole Google search will offer exact ratios for anyone interested, even though we have SR flour readily available in Australia, we don’t always have some in our pantry as it’s used much less than plain flour and it’s simple and convenient to have a small tin of baking powder in the case it’s needed. Self Raising flour is simply Plain Flour with added Baking Powder, so easily made.
Your Italian haters such as myself would NEVER say "tuck in". The word is "mangia, mangia". Watch out! You're going to make we Italian people. mad. The recipe is pretty close, but shrimp? This is a peasant dish, my dear Irish friend. No shrimp for the beggars. Who can afford it?

Rather than seasoning the flour, season the meat directly before dunking into the flour, much better seasoning coverage that way.
