So instead of my usual music for running, I had this vid on as I ran this evening. And I gotta say, your commentary really is aces. Wasn’t watching the screen, but knew exactly what was happening due to your play-by-plays. Gives me a new appreciation for the uploads!
I think the Thundurus Tera'd due to a misunderstanding of the Dark passive effect. They might've thought that Dark protected them from status, when it was just from Prankster.
Im sure he does exactly that, probably plays 5-10 games and picks the most interesting ones. Ive run into the *exact same team* 3-5x in a row many times. high ladder isnt filled with the most creative teambuilding sadly (oh look, REELABOOM....AGAIN)
I make VGC content for TH-cam and tbh, most Poketubers upload their best matches, not consecutive ones. I obviously can't speak for everyone, including James, but a lot of us do that as it generates more engagement. I like to think that Cybortron, ThatsAPlusOne, and Jeans might actually upload their matches consecutively as I've seen them lose multiple times on their channel (Pretty sure Jeans might have a video or two where he loses three of his matches 😅) For me personally, I'll only remove a loss from my final video if I lost strictly due to RNG. Otherwise, I upload my losses as it's important for viewers to know both the strengths and weaknesses of the team I'm featuring. Hope this helps!
If you're trying to showcase a team, it's pretty risky just to take the first 3 random battles you find and put all your hope on them turning out good. If you're running a cool tech to beat Calyrex you might run into 2 Zamazenta's and a Lunala, but that doesn't mean that having a Calyrex counter isn't relevant in the current meta, nor does it help the viewer understand how the team works when you do face the Calyrex matchup. There's lots of things like this that can happen in Pokemon, so if you only have time in the video for 3 games it's generally better to display how the team works in "normal" situations rather than uploading a battle where you miss every 95% move and then get crit. The viewer probably can figure out what the game's going to look like if that happens on their own.
He's won 1 International, 3 Regionals and got 3rd place at Worlds 2022, so you can rest assured that he isn't hiding being a bad player by editing out all the bad battles. According to LimitlessVGC, he's accrued enough wins to earn $22,000 USD just by winning at Pokémon over the course of his career.

Thanks! And James i appreciate your work ethic on the breakdowns and the like definitely have you subscribed keep up the Good Work
triple dark and none of them is Incineroar… good team
But of course its still got reeelaboom 👎
High ladder you see cobalt coaching and umbreon screen/yawn sets
literally lost to this at locals today and this was in my recommended lol. Great video james.
chinatown??

Most likely true. I know I also thought that when I started VGC
I was wondering if that was why. The other possibility is they wanted to resist Moongeist Beam.
They probably know but also brainfarted.
Lol at Hypnosis-Lunala.
Haha ironic how he loves when he cheeses his opponents but hates when he’s cheesed first.
LOVE hypnosis Lunala.
lunala and rillaboom! my two favorite mons
i beat this team 2-0 at locals today. dude was super chill though.
NGL, was expecting 3 incineroars
I would think this team could use healing. Pollen puff amoonguss maybe
Lunalaaaaaaa my boyyyyyyyy😍, my favorite Pokémon since it was released, I'm loving how Lunala is struggling against calyrex-shadow
In the second game it timetouted in the selection. It's the first time that i see that in a video
Lunala Umbreon… USUM all over again
Part of me wants to put a pinch berry on the Umbreon instead of the Sitrus.
In team preview it looks like a 4x dark team :D
Isn't Tera Normal the best Tera type for Lunala given the prevalence now of Calyrex-S and Flutter Mane?
Most of the time tera dark is so you can’t get prankster taunted
Should have taunted that Lunala
last team was cool
Lunala ftw
So annoying to see hypnosis land twice in a row
I prefer playing pokemon, especially pvp, without legendaries. that's the most fun way in my opinion
I sort of wish they would show their ladder ranking. Makes me think he just picks the best few games to post and pretends they are all in a row
