Have made it to that location 3-4 times now, and twice crossed the bridge each way! We also did stay at the wonderful Deception Pass Campground, and walked the trails to the beach/bridge, which we made a full day hike out of it! We must have been there at a different time though, as there where large gaps of 'no traffic' on our last trip...and we may head down there again after the kids are back in school, during a more peaceful time in the campground itself. Thanks for the bringing up of my memories there, as it's always a wonderful time indeed!
Beautiful scenery. But the traffic was so close! Your filming of the eagle in slow motion with the music, then bam the semi, made me bust out laughing. Enjoyed it.
Beautiful video! Beautiful place! Scary bridge! I laughed when I watched the yellow freight/roadway express truck go by that is where my hubby retired! Stay safe !
Great views at Deception Pass, been there a number of times as my son in law is from Anacortes. If you have time go Island hopping on the Ferry from Anacortes. You can hit five islands with beautiful views and island culture. Also there is an island on Anacortes island.
We were camping at south beach campground and our pick up broke down. We had to walk to town and back. I walked across the Newport bridge over and back. I could not look down. I was glad to get back across. I was feeling for Jen as she was walking across.
We walked across that bridge one time. Like you, we were not fans of the semi trucks going right next to us. But The views made it all worth it! Looks like you guys are having an awesome time!
I'm glad you got to check out the area, it's gorgeous. So cool you saw an eagle! I see one every morning going across the 520 bridge. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to see this mate & see him fishing! I'll miss that when we leave to FT.
I’m not afraid of heights, but that traffic would unnerve me for sure! Love how you showed us the views from the bridge and the beach. I agree, hiking is better than driving.
I thought it was called Deception Pass because the water flow changes direction with the tide. If you time it right, you can go with the current in your boat in the morning and go with the flow of current in the afternoon. Amazing to watch! According to local lore, Captain Cook named this passage Deception Pass in 1792. He thought the impressive westward rushing water was the gush of a great river, the river he aspired to find: the Northwest Passage. But he soon discovered that the current was a mere outgoing tide. The westward flowing waters of Puget Sound. The amazing (deceptive) thing is that the waters rush out to west as the tide goes out, then stop, and then rush to the east as the tide flows back in.
We've got a year and half to go, until we will buy a motorhome and retire and get to travel like you all do.......We really like you both...plus, we have learned so very much. You have taught us so much about the life....Yes, I subscribe to other RV er"s too, but we love your dry humor and Jen's attitude. Talking about the bald eagle, my husband had to make several trips to Dutch Harbor, AK........there are more bald eagles there, than there are people......lol....nesting grounds.
Loved it up there! I was all over that area for about three weeks last year, I was on a 70 day motorcycle trip. I agree about the traffic on that bridge! It was crazy!
Dan & Jen Nevada yeah, I started out on a trip planned to be about a month, but it kinda got away from me, lol. Luckily I’m retired, and have so many friends all over. Keep up the good work, I’ll be joining you as a full timer within the next year!
Jen I'm with you... I do not like heights and the big vehicles would have freaked me out... But my husband would have been right there with Dan. Loved the views Stay safe
You guys are brave to walk across that bridge with a little tiny pole and a little bit of cable between you and the 40 to 80 thousand pound trucks going past you. A tire blows or in the opposite lane a car gets out of control or anything else that may happen. Now chances are that nothing will happen just like you guys experienced but it only takes one time and that tiny pole and small wire are not going to stop anything. Well maybe a bicycle rider... Just sayin... :)
No, My grandparents came from Prince Edward Island, Canada. I'm a Maine native. If you ever get to the east coast, I recommend you check it out. It is a lot like Washington state. Take route #1 along the coast. Maine trivia question, For the both of you. What do they call a Maine native?
You guys need a better Bee roll camera. Never saw any of the Bees you were shooting. hahaha - Thank you, I will be here all week - lucky comedy isn't my day job huh? LOL
Dan, I'm not a camera expert, but sometimes you refer to or point at something in the background, but it is all blurry from our veiwpoint. If you have enough light you can increase your Fstop on the lens and it will increase the depth of field... in other words it will bring the background into focus while maintaining focus on you. Enjoy your videos.

It was crazy busy. Summer...
I absolutely love seeing you guys outside and get to see your experiences. sound was good even with traffic heard you clearly
Yeah, the traffic noise wasn't as bad as I though it would be. Thanks!
Beautiful scenery. But the traffic was so close! Your filming of the eagle in slow motion with the music, then bam the semi, made me bust out laughing. Enjoyed it.
Thanks! Wish I could have got the eagle better.
As always,,,,,, I love the videos. Keep doing what you are doing and enjoying. I live my "American Dream" through the both of you.
Thanks but are you one of the Canadians?
That spot on the beach is one of my favorite spots in the world.
What a beautiful video shot of the bald eagle thank you

We took the ferry over to Friday Harbor. It was a fun day.
Love the views....I'll not walk across that bridge.
If Jen can do it...

I guess, we went there again today. That's four times...
It was nice seeing the pictures Jen posted about your trip to Friday Harbor. Hopefully you guys enjoyed that as well!
Not just any truck, that was a Deschutes Brewery truck, you got the shot! Amazingly beautiful!!!... Oh... and there was an eagle. 😂🤣👍
Yeah, pretty cool. Unfortunately, no beer fell out.😉
Beautiful scenery! That traffic so close would unnerve me as well. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy and be safe!
It is pretty scary.
Another great video! The slow motion and change in music on the Eagle....,loved it! Great editing!
Thank you!

Great video, thank you! Yay Battle Born!
Thanks!
I’m not afraid of heights, but that traffic would unnerve me for sure! Love how you showed us the views from the bridge and the beach. I agree, hiking is better than driving.
The traffic was a little scary...and I used to work around live traffic.

I don't know. We just read it on a sign...

You did read my entire reply, yes? Did you stay long enough, or go back later to see the current change direction?

We used to watch Deadliest Catch. Eagles are everywhere up there. Thanks!
I saw the sailboat flying out under the power of the current. Sumpen else!
He was moving. The next day we saw a 16 foot bowrider almost get swamped...
Wow, that's a departure from what I am used to watching from you guys. Dan actually has a personality
:o
Happy Wednesday!
Comments are rough today. Full moon?
Is it? LOL, mine was meant in jest. Usually you are sitting on the couch very serious and business like. This one you actually smiled once or twice :D
We do these type of videos every week. You know that, right? And I've never been called "business like" before...even at work🤣
Nice eagle shot. Beer truck pretty good.
Yummmm, beer!
Last time I walked that bridge it cold with a light rain and 45 mph wind, and with the traffic it was miserable.
Loved it up there! I was all over that area for about three weeks last year, I was on a 70 day motorcycle trip. I agree about the traffic on that bridge! It was crazy!
70 Days? Wow! Sounds fun!
Dan & Jen Nevada yeah, I started out on a trip planned to be about a month, but it kinda got away from me, lol. Luckily I’m retired, and have so many friends all over. Keep up the good work, I’ll be joining you as a full timer within the next year!
Whatever. That's the nice thing about being retired. You can do whatever you want. Good luck.
After the hike back up Dan was so out of breath he had nothing to say. Now that's funny 😀
...😐
Next time stop in Coupeville for muscles at Toby’s Tavern.
i am not afraid height either Good Afternoon Dan @ Jen be safe
No but the combo of the traffic and the heights is a little sketchy...
Jen I'm with you... I do not like heights and the big vehicles would have freaked me out... But my husband would have been right there with Dan. Loved the views Stay safe
Thanks!
Hey y'all - another fine VLOG - thanks! By the way, what is the name of that music at the end of your video? LOVE it!
As always, it's in the description...
Well - I thought that I looked there. My BAD! Sorry to bug you . . .
Regards, Lloyd

They don't look like it, but they're only going 30 mph. Seems like a lot more when you're up there...

We love the area!

Ha!
Just watching you cats cross the bridge was a little unnerving.
You just try not to think about what would happen.
