  • Halifax, formally known as the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), is the capital and largest municipality of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. It had a population of 403,131 in 2016, with 316,701 in the urban area centred on Halifax Harbour. As of July 2020, Statistics Canada estimated the population of the CMA at 448,544. The regional municipality consists of four former municipalities that were amalgamated in 1996: Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, and Halifax County.
Halifax is a major economic centre in Atlantic Canada, with a large concentration of government services and private sector companies. Major employers and economic generators include the Department of National Defence, Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia Health Authority, Saint Mary's University, the Halifax Shipyard, various levels of government, and the Port of Halifax. Agriculture, fishing, mining, forestry, and natural gas extraction are major resource industries found in the rural areas of the municipality.

I live in Dartmouth. I often take a "cruise" to Halifax, just to walk around. When younger I used to "BUSK" with my sax, when the mayor, a doctor from England, made it legal. It added to the scenery and sounds, but then he dropped it. Too bad. John M. Hill,

Man oh man, Halifax is so, so, much cleaner than St. John's is. I make these types of videos too, but here, I can't avoid the garbage and litter anywhere I look and go. I wish to goodness, the city would get it's act together and get on top of the litter problem here, which is a BIG, problem, better, as it's SO, INSANELY, EMBARRASSING, and INSULTING, to those of us who DON'T, litter and CAN'T, enjoy these public spaces PROPERLY!
Bravo Halifax, keep up the good work.
Warmest Wishes. Be Well and Safe. From your Sister City of St. John's, Newfoundland. Out. 🙂🖐🏼

By the way, I made a mobile game(iOS and Android) about Halifax called "Hali Drive".
It's free so you can try and find familiar places there.

I really want to move to Halifax but I'm hesitant of the rising sea levels, looks like most of it will be underwater by 2050, Including Dartmouth and Bedford, I wish there was a way to know for sure what the plan is, do they plan to build sea walls during the next 30 years to prevent it from flooding or do they plan to abandon the city and evacuate everyone out? I guess its too much uncertainty to move there atm

Actually it's HRM, formerly known as just Halifax. Minor nitpick. LOL Nobody calls it HRM tho.

Don't come here high taxes no Health Care our Healthcare System is beyond repair nowhere to live low minimum wage stagnant economy too much government if you were smart you'd go to another problems like Ontario Vancouver or even Alberta but don't come to Halifax you'll just waste your money on wasted hopes and dreams
