- Last year I reviewed the "base" game of Catan 3D Edition. It was an awesome collectors edition of one of the biggest hobby board games and brought the island of Catan to life. Now, Catan Studios has sent me the Catan 3D Expansion box to review!

Does the Gamegenic Trading Post fit into the boxes of the 3D version?
You'd have to ditch the insert which is quite good for the 3d version
@@DontBeBoard Not really satisfying. But thank you though!
Can you play 6 people with this expansion?
Do you think there will be more expansions released for 3D Catan?
I'd be surprised to be honest - potentially a 5 - 6 player but it's a long shot
If these make enough money… given only a capitalist would bother making such a luxury very soon of a cardboard game… then yes they would make further upgrades and expansions. I would buy them personally and there is allot more margin in luxury game items but the only way to inspire them to make them is for us to buy them.
@@DontBeBoard Hopefully. I am interested in the 3D version, but will only buy it with the 5-6 expansion for Cities & Knights. I will not invest 500 Euro in sets we will "never" use, couse we are most of the time 5 or 6 players.
@@DontBeBoard Today I've got an answer from KOSMOS, the publisher. They are planing an expansion 5-6 for Catan 3D but at the moment (January 2023) they are not working on it.
Interesting if they do as they'd need to include the Seafarers 5-6 player bits
Just wish the inserts were better quality. For the price they are super thin and flimsy and should match the cost. Mine came broken in both Catan and the Expansion.
I found the expansions one was better - or at least not broken
