I really felt my heart being ripped out of my chest with the revelation that she died like that, in such an horrible way and I'm guessing painful for a few seconds. It really hits you like it hits the main character, because even if she were to die of her illness, atleast they had some little time to enjoy, and to have that taken way, it really hurts. (The worst part is there are clues of a serial killer in the movie, so that's some sick foreshadowing, and I think the killer acted around the area of his home which means she as going to his place).
I'm so glad I payed attention to the news at the beginning of the movie because I had a feeling that'd have something to do with the story later on but damn, that sucks it turned out to be like that...

What truly broke my heart was that he didn’t just love her, but her way of being present with the world around her. The way she gave herself to others and called it “living”. Haruki filled that void of her absence with the connections he had been missing his whole life. And Sakura found the allure of herself without the need for interaction with others Yin and Yang complete each other :) 🌸 🍃🌳
Me and my friend cried at the end. I Want To Eat Your Pancreas is one of those movies that just know which feelings to hit, just like a Silent Voice, which I cried watching with my mother and grandmother. It was as well the first time I learned that my grandmother had watched anime movies as a child. She that a stroke and tried to make it until the day of my birthday but passed away the night before. I learned of the death by accident on the day of my 19th birthday. May you rest in peace, grandmother. It's been a bit more than a year but I still can't get over the grief.
This desrves more likes bruh… i cant imagine losing someone like that, knowing how hard they were trying just to make you happy on your bday. Just remember to keep your head up, and that your grandmother tried… she really did.

Same My grandfather died 5 days before my 12th birthday after that my life turned upside down. My uncles betrayed my father by registering my grandfather's property by their own names. 😂 I don't know if I had to feel sad about a loss or feel happy about knowing their true intentions 😂. The past is history so i don't care now but that thing definitely gave me a trauma which i wasn't able to overcome till today. I am sure someday i will overcome that trauma.

This and A Silent Voice saved me, I Want To Eat Your Pancreas taught me the importance of relationships and being vulnerable. I've always been a loner, went through some trauma in my childhood that led me to avoid having any relationships. I let every friendship go down the drain, and pretty much took myself out of the dating scene. I thought I could live a fulfilling life by myself, but I was so wrong. Didn't realize how repressed I was, how much I deeply crave connection & affection.
The truth is Sakura want Haruki to be with her friend, Kyoko. She do love Haruki but she know that she will die because of her illness. So, Sakura doesn't want her friend to be lonely, that's why she's eager to make Haruki & Kyoko together.

Every time Sakura brought up that how Haruki was a loner and didn't talk to anyone and how she motivated him and told him that he should socialize made my eyes go a little watery. I was just finding Haruki too relatable throughout the movie every emotion he felt i could understand why he did it and how he felt, I wanted to cry but I just couldn't, but at the end when she wrote him a farewell letter and at the end he asked that "can I cry?" made me too emotional I was crying a lot like I haven't cried in years. I finally cried fully without my eyes just only getting watery. this anime is a masterpiece and I will never forget it. I don't know to experience how I am feeling but all I know is I felt good

Me and my friend cried at the end. I Want To Eat Your Pancreas is one of those movies that just know which feelings to hit, just like a Silent Voice, which I cried watching with my mother and grandmother. It was as well the first time I learned that my grandmother had watched anime movies as a child. She that a stroke and tried to make it until the day of my birthday but passed away the night before. I learned of the death by accident on the day of my 19th birthday. May you rest in peace, grandmother. It's been a bit more than a year but I still can't get over the grief.
This desrves more likes bruh… i cant imagine losing someone like that, knowing how hard they were trying just to make you happy on your bday. Just remember to keep your head up, and that your grandmother tried… she really did.

Same My grandfather died 5 days before my 12th birthday after that my life turned upside down. My uncles betrayed my father by registering my grandfather's property by their own names. 😂 I don't know if I had to feel sad about a loss or feel happy about knowing their true intentions 😂. The past is history so i don't care now but that thing definitely gave me a trauma which i wasn't able to overcome till today. I am sure someday i will overcome that trauma.

Every time Sakura brought up that how Haruki was a loner and didn't talk to anyone and how she motivated him and told him that he should socialize made my eyes go a little watery. I was just finding Haruki too relatable throughout the movie every emotion he felt i could understand why he did it and how he felt, I wanted to cry but I just couldn't, but at the end when she wrote him a farewell letter and at the end he asked that "can I cry?" made me too emotional I was crying a lot like I haven't cried in years. I finally cried fully without my eyes just only getting watery. this anime is a masterpiece and I will never forget it.
