Great catch there about why Kil's dada allowed him to leave. It's probably also why he made him do the blood seal promise ..so he'd feel worse about it if he eventually (his dad believes) betrays them.

The dad is arguably one of the best dads ever. He was so considerate and nurturing. He showed killua pure love and gave him great advice that stuck with killua till the end. The dad is an ultimate Chad in every way and the only weird or out of place or even seemingly out of character thing he did was when he talked about thinking killua will come back around to being an assassin.
@@Kishiwii He was simply placating the rest of the family members by saying Killua will definitely return to the family business. By the way, in the previous episode there's a lot that was left out from the manga, which is why this short part of the arc is one of the most disliked parts of the anime. Gon, Kurapika and Leorio actually spent 21 days there training to open the gate. Gon's arm healed in 10 days, not 3, and there's a reason why his arm healed that fast, although you won't learn about it for a while(not sure where you are with the Patreon episodes). Leorio is generally poorly treated by the writers and directors in the anime. In the manga, the gate part is very different; they say goodbye to the "gatekeeper" and he mentions that the three of them each opened the first gate after only 20 days, pointing out that Leorio even opened the second gate by himself. At this point in the story, Leorio is second among them for physical strength, only behind Killua, although there's a MASSIVE gap between him and Killua(and also, Kurapika and Gon are still overall more skilled than Leorio, especially Kurapika). Also, when Canary is hitting Gon because he's crossing the line, in the manga she actually gives him a good beating and his face is all messed up, like a boxer. His eye is completely swollen and his face is all bloody.
It's pretty obvious why. They're all very talented. Also Gon's arm healed so quickly because Hanzo purposely broke it in a way that didn't completely snap the bone
@@comeatmebro8120 You can't really say that a "talented" 10 year old kid beating 20 adults is obvious or normal. Only in anime logic 😂. But it will be explained later
Thanks for pointing that out Parker, I would have never imagined that song said "Zoldyck". I associated it with them but I didn't notice that, that's really cool
This is a very great bit of introspection into the Zoldyck family dynamics. All of the elders (Grandpa, Father, Mother) want Killua to lead the family eventually, but the way they go about it is different. The mother wants to keep Killua close and confined because she believes that way he'll be molded into a proper family leader, that being out and having friends will prevent him from doing so. The father, however, believes that being an assassin is in Killua's blood, that leading the family is in his blood, that eventually betraying people is in his blood. That's why he lets him roam free. Because he believes Killua will return no matter what. Perhaps even that it's better to let him do as he pleases because he'll come to terms with himself being an assassin rather than resenting everyone for not letting him go. As for how the Grandpa likes to do things, we don't know. But we see here that he seems to agree with the father's approach more than with the opinion of his daughter (the mother).

Kil's dad let him go, because he knew he would return once he experienced the world. Kil is a genius, super educated in political n combat tactics. Also, he is extremely rational, that was why he was so intrigued by Gon being his age but with a different view of the world (Gon is extremely naive). Now the word is not rational, especially for the people living in it, Kil n Gon now will go explore it and be forced to delay with the good, the bad, and everything else. kil's Dad knows his son will return because Kil has no mercy for stupid n bad people, and as a Hunter, they will meet people with extreme views, and being an assassin with his training and education he will thrive. Kil's dad just needed to make sure of one thing, that kil does not betray or kill his friend if something happens. Why do u guy's think he ask him for only one thing to make that promise because if he would have not promised to never do it he would eventually do that.
Hm, since nobody mentioned it: in the manga, Seaquant is actually the Hunter who lead the gang of 100 thugs, no clue why they changed that part. Also, all of Canary's flashbacks were added in the anime, including her being from Meteor City.
