- This was a very eventful week, filled with lots of challenges and exciting moments. I couldn’t be more proud of the entire Hakuna Mipaka Team including our Vets who mastered each and every challenge within this week better than no one else could!
The Ladies are all sterilized the dynamics within the Pride are better than ever before and now we are all fully ready for the next Wild Chapter in their Lives: THE LIVE WILD PROJECT!
Soon they will be released in the Live Wild area where they can finally be the Kings & Queens they’ve been born for! 250 hectares of pure African Nature will be their home where they can do what Lions do the best!

About Dean Schneider:
I am a 27-year old Swiss guy, who dedicated his entire life to the animal world! Nowadays, I live in Africa, I am a member of a lion pride, my wife is a hyena and I’m a daddy of two monkeys. Besides that, I have built a global voice for our planet’s wildlife over the past two years!
Born in Switzerland (Zurich) on October 3, 1992, I was blessed to grow up in a loving family with my sister (one year older) and my parents, who were always very supportive and loving. My mother is originally from the Balkan region (Southeastern Europe), while my dad is a Swiss citizen. I discovered my deep passion for wildlife at the age of six or seven, through the legendary Steve Irwin! He was the one who brought wildlife into my living room in Zurich and inspired and educated me about all kinds of different animal species.
Even though I was so passionate about animals, I originally followed a very ordinary path to adulthood, eventually ending up in the finance industry as a financial advisor. After a very successful year, I decided to found my own company, which then, over the next three years, allowed me to generate the financial foundation to launch the Hakuna Mipaka project at the age of 23-24.
After starting my life in South Africa additional financial support form my Family allowed me to evolve and develop the Hakuna Mipaka Oasis for 2 Years without having to depend on any income sources such as offering touristic visits / programs, breeding or trading of animals, donations or any other monetary businesses!
About Hakuna Mipaka:
The Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is located on around 400 hectares (four million square meters) in the wilderness of South Africa! It is home to thousands of different wild animal species! Besides that, the oasis also serves as a life-long home to a few rescued wild animals, which were born in captivity! We also do rehabilitation programs with different animals, which are then being released back into the wild.
The Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is my personal home and a private sanctuary that is NOT open to the public. We don’t cater to tourists and don’t allow any day visits or animal activities! We don’t breed animals and we are also not trading animals. I built this place for animals and not for humans. The Hakuna Mipaka oasis is a secure, wild & lifelong home to the animals that live here.

Not at all - I think Ive seen every episode about three times now - but have to go back at least a fourth or fifth time to like and comment cos before I know it - Im on the next episode and am beading at the same time and if I drop something .... my cats will have a field day. (I have three cats - two male black tuxedos and a female grey patchy - all desexed, all are inside/outside cats but not out-out. They have a shadehouse frame and the back verandah with chicken mesh all over it. Loads of hammocks, toys and stuff to climb on.) I just absolutely LOVE, as you say - his LOVE for the animals, and realisation and push that the circle of life has to happen.

we are worth the same when we are born only what we do to our kind and other species and nature only that defines how much worth we are

It’s not something hard to do honestly, I have learned the hard way with dogs, JUST because they’re moving their tail doesn’t mean they’re happy :). You gotta look in their body position, face expression, and if they’re tense or not.
It’s a pretty easy thing to understand animals if you pay attention to their behaviors, I knew this about dogs when I was just seven years old

Yeah but someone's gotta do the job. And dean cant be seen doing the stuff cause he is the one staying with them otherwise he would not be able to provide their needs if the animals do not trust him.
I have a feeling that the reward for the vet is seeing his patients healthy and alive.They know that wild animals will behave and think differently so even if the animals hate him.... He is most likely ok with it and it probably doesn't affect him at all.

“When they’re down, weak, sick, that’s when you need to be there.” So many lessons to be learned for human relationships too! I was expecting him to say “levee them alone when they’re scared/sick/weak in case of aggression.” It is really nice and sweet the fact he can really treat the animals like family and be there when they need it. That’s so special.

@@crazyhairsinger fr I had cat that loved me a lot, he’d cuddle up to me and seek me out often. I obvi gave him space never bugged him myself, all the love was from him coming up to me which is similar to the lions he’s not with them always, just an hour a day or maybe even a few days per week only. My dog is different, she’s next to me always lol

The bond you have with these beautiful animals is something I could only dream about. It’s so beautiful and amazing.
Watching Dean gives me so much peace.
Makes me realize every time, we should stop chasing for materialistic items, and just be out there enjoying with such peaceful animals sharing some love.
There will always be people on this earth that try to bring everyone down, that’s why we’re in the situation we are now. It’s people like Dean that spread love back into the world that we need more of.
Dean, your thoughtfulness is so compelling. I never imagined I would be interested in following lions in captivity. I am an animal lover thru and thru yet prefer to interact with them within Minnesota USA close to my family. My happiest memories are raising my 3 children while milking dairy goats on our small hobby farm. Now we have 5 grandchildren to teach how to love animals!!! I will be sharing your videos with them.

It's definitely worth to get the app just for Dean. He posts so much on his stories like a vlog and it's awesome! Even if you're not in his close friends list(which has extra content, I believe it's paid but I'm not sure about that so correct me if I'm wrong).
