I was born in Dordrecht in 1945. My family lived in Zuid Holland. We immigrated to America in 1949. Love your videos. Would love to spend time sketching in Holland. 😊
"You are teaching yourself something even if you don't know exactly what it is yet." Expressive arts in an impressively concise nutshell. Love your tutorial and especially your philosophy on artmaking. Thank you.
Love your channel! Glad I found you! My husband's family is from Enkhuisen. They emigrated to Canada in 1951. We still family there. I've only gone there a couple of times but I love it.
❤ love the use of markers here! I started drawing family members from photos when I couldn’t travel home during the pandemic. It completely reignited my childhood passion for art and doodling.❤
Dear Koosje I have been watching your videos for a couple of years. I love the way you play with your mega talent ... you give me so much heart to draw playfully. ⭐⭐⭐
Thank you very much! I know you've been following along for a while and I appreciate it! You've whitnesed how practice, practice, practice has helped developing my art.
Great suggestion for drawing faces! Yesterday I screen shotted some faces to draw and now I shall give this technique a go. Woodies are fun to use, and water-soluble too. Thanks for another inspiring video!
I just gave this try! I used watercolor for the base and Neocolor I for the "details". I've always been very intimidated of drawing people but this one that I just made is genuinely my favorite one ever (so far). I think it's the combination of looser drawing with blunt tools that made it more expressive. Thank you!
You are so charming dear Koosje ! I love the way you draw ! You always make me smile and make me want to draw...although I don’t always do 😢....but still get a great happy feeling when I see your videos and drawings..... so it’s a win win right ?! Sure it is !!❤Thank you for sharing and wish you a greet week ! Warmest regards...Lorraine 🥰💕🎨
I’ve been practising caricature techniques recently. Your art exercise will be a perfect one to loosen up. Can’t wait to try what you suggest. Thankyou! ❤❤❤
I’m so excited! I’ve finally bought your book and I cannot WAIT til it comes! Thank you for putting this out there, Koosje. You are one of the main influencers in my art life that got me into sketchbooks as a regular habit! Love your work, love you as a person! Thank you! ❤❤
Ok, I’ve hated drawing people from observation because they never look like them but you make such a good point… they don’t HAVE to! 🤯 I love how these turn out and I really need to get back into your book again because I might’ve put it to one side in frustration 😅
Hello Koosje, thank you for the fun and relaxing exercise! I had to show the start of your video to my daughter, because she has the same honey-themed mug. Finally, would it be an idea to place some copies of your books in a physical store? Amersfoort has a couple of wonderful shops, and because it's so touristy, many people from all over the Netherlands could then either go out deliberately to buy a copy, or stumble upon it and fall in love. ☘️
There are physical copies in a few shops around the Netherlands. I may put some effort in getting the book to a bookshop in Amersfoort. As a self-published author, it's a lot of work to do so - and to be completely transparent, it's not bringing in that much, so it hardly balances out the time and energy I'd need to put in it, while working on other projects that have priority...
@@KoosjeKoene That makes sense. You know better than me of course. Sharing ideas is how I show I care, but people are always free to do something with them or not. I call it throwing some pebbles in a pond. The pebbles will always sink into the mud, but maybe the ripples they spread spark ideas or bring about an unexpected connection. ☘️
Just a bit of fun, as art should be. I seldom do this type of picture. The closest I ever come to it is when I use watercolor to lay down the background colors. I let it dry overnight. Then I put a sketch on top of the watercolor using a pen of one type or another. The sketch can be a landscape, a simple structure, a pile of rock, a face or two, some animals, who knows. I’ll be looking forward to next week. May this week be a good one for you and yours. -OkieSketcher1949
Hallo there, I don't teach daily classes but if you watch one of my draw tip tuesday videos here on TH-cam every day, that would give you about 400 days of lessons! And maybe you could check out my workshops schedule: koosjekoene.com/workshops
I wanted to tell you that after watching some of your videos yestarday I finally did a sketch this morning. Ants werebiting my feet so it was a bit uncomfortable😅 i have been feeling blocked for years but you attitude made me realise I have been taking myself too seriously rather than having fun. Hello mam I want to become an professional artist
Now I'm beginner
But I love art
How can I take daily classes by you ?
Hallo there, I don't teach daily classes but if you watch one of my draw tip tuesday videos here on TH-cam every day, that would give you about 400 days of lessons! And maybe you could check out my workshops schedule: koosjekoene.com/workshops
My inner critic is horrible... 😖
But you can totally beat it by making some crazy colorful art without caring for the result!
Video was good, thumbnail not so much. Attractive thumbnails and catchy all caps titles are essential
Ben direct even gestopt met werken om jouw familie ook te tekenen. Kan er weer tegenaan nu!
Wat goed!
