- キンタロウは、モモタロウとゲンタロウが遊んでるのを見ると近寄って来ます。
もちろん危ないのですぐにゲンキが止めに来ます。
ゲンタロウもキンタロウとモモタロウが触れ合ったりしてるのを見ると近寄って来ます。
それでゲンタロウが来ると触れ合いが止まっちゃうのが残念です。
どちらも「僕も一緒に遊びたい！」みたいな気持ちなのかな？
Kintaro comes closer when he finds Gentaro playing with Momotaro.
Of course Genki comes to stop Kintaro immediately.
And Gentaro comes closer when he finds Kintaro with Momotaro.
When Gentaro comes, the contact between Kintaro and Momotaro stops.
Gentaro and Kintaro may be thinking "I want to play too!"

⭐️モモタロウ Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
momotaro was born at Ueno zoo in Tokyo on jul.3,2000 and came to our zoo on Oct.18,2010.
He is beautiful and handsome ,the silverback of our troop.
He is a little timid,and scared of new things.
He sometimes shows lovely behaviors that melt our hearts.
He is making efforts to be a good dad for his two sons.
⭐️ゲンキ Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Genki was born at our zoo on Jun,24,1986.
After mating with several males without a pregnancy she found her perfect partner.Momotaro.
Now she is a loving and caring mom for her two sons.
She sometimes behaves boldly,yet she can also be sensitive.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️ゲンタロウ Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at our zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
Everyone immediately agrees that he is a very adorable boy.
⭐️キンタロウ Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at our zoo on Dec.19,2018.
His big brother sometimes touches him a bit too roughly,but he is well protected by Genki.
The father Momotaro is also interested in him,but Genki hasn"t let Momotaro to touch him yet.

今までゴリラに好きとか可愛いとかそういう感情抱かなかったのですが、モモタロウみてたら愛おしくなってきました。デカイのに優しい。

That's Gentaro, his oldest son. Not mommy Genki. Gentaro is getting jealous of dad, he want to play with Kintaro.

I read that in the wild, babies and young gorillas in general naturally gravitate to the group leader, their father. It benefits them to have a good relationship with him. He is their protector, and if anything were to happen to their mother, they will need him.

Janice White when I saw him hit Genki (mom while holding baby) yesterday in another video, then grab the green grass she was eating out of her hands as she cowered against the wall, that wasn’t so gentle. He seems so bipolar!! Lol.

@@EmmaDee that is typical of animal behavior. He's sad that he's not getting the same amount of attention as he did before Kintaro was born. He's acting out for sure. I usually view each video as a separate action from than the others. When Kintaro was first born Gintaro exhibited behavior that was cringe worthy. Gintaro seems to have settled into a big brother role with fewer temper tantrums than a year ago. He still has some developmental milestones to undergo, that's for sure. Gintaro's interactions are different with each family member. Genki understands Gintaro's actions. I've seen her be gentle with Gintaro and I've also give Gintaro some discipline when she felt he needed it. We don't know what transpired before or after the event you described. if it gets too rough Momotaro steps in. Since I am only a spectator I can't or don't view the full length interactions between this troop. It is difficult to watch some of the interactions as they seem a bit rough.
A little confusing to me...From the title, I assume an adolescent/juvenile gorilla keeps distracting the baby from the dad in order to play with the baby. Is that correct?
Gorillas are simply beautiful. That silverback is just majestic. This is just an indoor holding area. Ueno Zoo has an open air enclosure for gorillas.

@@El.matsouMomo’s Mom is at another zoo. She has 4 other kids with a different silverback. Momo’s Dad died before he was born suddenly. They are in a breeding program, if they weren’t they would be no more. Because of poaching they are going to become extinct.

I’ve never really been interested in silver back gorillas until I came across this channel. This little family unit is beyond fascinating, and I can’t get enough of them. They make me laugh so much, and I find everything they do extremely endearing.

I agree. However all Eastern and Western gorillas now have been pushed to the brink of extinction by a surge of illegal hunting/poaching in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and are now critically endangered. They are now safer in captivity. Same goes for orangutans. So as much as i don't like it these apes are safe and fed well and enjoy their home's in captivity.

What do you think these animals do in the wild? I see very contented animals who have a regular source of food and an environment free from predators and diseases. The wild is a cruel and unforgiving place. These gorillas are lucky.
That's how they live in the jungle. Seriously, what predator is going to mess with a mature silverback gorilla? A leopard would certainly take a child gorilla, but as you saw, the silverback is always alert.
