Thank you so much Dr Spinach. This video is very informative and precise. I have 2 questions though. 1. where does prescription writing come under? 2.failing at prescription writing, does it attract a veto fail?
You are most welcome doctor. It is an independent topic. And no failing a prescription doesnt lead you to fail/rejected in all other stations if that was your question.
Hey, I Really appreciate the work you are doing. Thank you for your efforts in helping the students out. I am a 2 nd year student pursuing medicine in Philippines. I will be taking UKMLA in the year 2025, I would really appreciate your advice and tips that I should practice from now on and also the preparation strategy. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for your comment. I appreciate your kind words. If I were you in my second year, I would really not bother myself much regarding any foreign medical exam. If at all, its better to think about all of it during 4th year of medical school. For the rest, please focus on your present subjects and college life ;)
Hi, nice video. I have a doubt. It has been more than 6 months since I passed PLAB 1. I have been working in the Eye dept for the past 7 years in India. So I am out of touch with a lot of scenarios appearing in PLAB2. Can you please tell me how long does it take to adequately prepare for PLAB 2?
Hi Dr, a full-time dedicated preparation of 3 months or part-time prep of 6 months with 1 month of full-time prep before exam should suffice. Here’s a video that will help with your further doubts: PLAB 2 preparation schedule | Live session with Dr Rodrigo th-cam.com/video/o-IwrGoDHQ8/w-d-xo.html
Why are you giving plab? Appear for mrcp instead. You will be overqualified for most of the specialties via the plab pathway. Look this up and make better decisions honestly
Hi Dr Spinach I have a query regarding PLAB 1 & 2. Are the topics covered in both of these examinations sufficient enough as a knowledge base to work successfully/comfortably as FY2 in NHS? Or do we need to read more/ know more than what’s asked in these 2 examinations?
It is sufficient to work in the NHS, once you enter you are in the shadow period, working under someone - you learn the system gradually and get adapted to it. However, in order to pass the interviews you need to have some knowledge about the speciality you shall be applying to.
Thanks so much for this video 🙂.. I would like to know if all these stations are always there in each exam or do some stations appear more often than others?
Hi thanks for your question. There are some stations which you can't afford to miss studying like psychiatric illnesses & breaking bad news. But the pattern always keeps changing, sometimes most of these stations will be there and sometimes not. It is difficult to predict. Therefore it is recommended to read everything. Hope it helps

Hi can you tell me the results date after plab2?
2 weeks? And on wednesdays?
It usually is 3rd or 4th week after exam. The day usually is Wednesday but it's flexible and they can release it on any week day.
*_Hello there _*
👋😌
do we have to write on the PLAB 2 exam?
Its an Osce exam, where you have a conversation with a patient.
