    Well I am all set up for Monday morning , however I am nervous about trying spinning lures ( I got a bunch of panther martin spinners and a few rooster tails ) I never ever used lures before mainly it was hook , worm , bell sinkers only so this is new for me and exciting 😀. I watched everything on your channel about trout fishing and spinners and some other channels too getting as much information about where to fish and how. So I really hope what I learned pays off. I watch your stuff a lot and your expertise at spin fishing is undeniable, especially for trout. It is you and the gent from Creek Fishing Adventures. You guys are my favorites because you enjoy the type of fishing I do. Light and ultralight tackle. Anyway, had a question for you as I fish mostly with spinners, spoons and minnows (Rapalas). What rubber worms, grubs or other softbaits/swimbaits would you use specifically for trout and smallmouth bass and how would you rig them?
    Maybe you could explore that topic in a vid?
    Keep doing what you do. You encourage me to fish.

      Appreciate the support! Any small paddle tail swimbait will catch trout. Keitech are top notch. But there are hundreds of brands out there that make them. 2-3” range should work well. In my last video I fished with 2” swimbait on a jig head and caught trout.

    I’m assuming that’s a weighted streamer right? seems like you had pretty good success with it.. is that typical? does the streamer even come close to catching as many fish as a spinner bait? great vid thanks

    • @FishHawk
      @FishHawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes it has a weighted head. But very light weight. It doesn’t catch the numbers of fish that spinners do, but it tends to catch bigger. From my experience.

    I've got to ask if this is public water for fishing? That number and size of fish in August is incredible! We have some great trout fishing in PA, but a spinner is about the last thing I would expect success with after they've been pounded for four months. A public creek with that number and size of fish in August would be lined with fisherman. I am amazed by your success and the quality of the fish!

      It’s becuse he has a 4lb drag and setting the drag to high will break the line immediately if a bigger one hits and if you pull the fish into hard while still fighting the line will break lose. It’s better he lets them get tired first rather than lose or worst case scenario the bait gets stuck in their mouth and dies. He does a fine job
