  • Connie Murray, president of E-Z-ON Products of Florida, describes and demonstrates a new school bus seat restraint system that safely keeps "Houdinis" from wiggling free or undoing the restraints. Her presentation was made on the STN EXPO Trade Show floor in July 2011.

    The shoulder straps should be secured together in the front to prevent the person in it slipping out of the top part of the vest.

      I think neon green would be the most visible, yellow is to close to white

    I'm a special needs bus driver one of our children needs that safety vest but she would not wear the Crouch strap as it leaves red marks and it's very uncomfortable and need to redesign the crotch area strap.

    My child uses one that is a clip at the shoulder version and it is great for kids with special needs. I know he is secure on the bus when I send him to school.

      Your lucky that she gets to wear a restraint on the bus. I was in high school and our school was really small so we had only mini buses and our bus got side swiped and the driver slammed on the breaks and I got slammed in to the seat in front of me. Our bus had 2 point lap belts but no one was wearing them luckily because the 2 point lap belts are not safe. They are only safe for roll over accidents. If you get into a head on collision while wearing a 2 point lap belt, the upper half of your body will get bent forwards super hard and hit the seat in front of you and it could break your spine or your back. I think all mini buses should have some sort of 4 or 5 point restraint at every seat and then bus drivers should make it mandatory that all students wear them at all times. Whenever we went on field trips, they used the big bus and it had 3 point seat belts like the ones that cars have and still no one would wear them. What good do seat belts do if no one wears them? Also I think big buses don't need seatbelts because they have so much mass that they won't stop that quickly during a crash. But then maybe big buses should have 2 or 3 point seat belts incase of a roll over crash. That's my final suggestion. Big buses should have 2 or 3 point seat belts and small buses should have 4 or 5 point and there should be rules put in place that all students must wear their seat belt, they should have an extra lady, like a bus drivers assistant that sits in the middle of the bus and makes sure that kids keep their seat belts on and also I think that for students who have special needs, some of them who don't like wearing their safety vest or whatever these are called, they should either not have to wear one and instead sit on the inside of the seat and have an assistant or another teacher or someone sit next to the child and either be their to comfort them while wearing their vest or have them not wear a vest at all but have the assistant lady sit next to them and make sure they don't stand up and walk around the bus. If a student with special needs is okay with wearing their vest, then they can wear it alone without someone sitting next to them.

    Can this belt also be supplemented with handcuffs?

      In the front, yeah. But not in the back. Also it's like $400 so if you are buying it for BDSM stuff, then be warned. Although you could buy a racing harness that are for race cars that are similar to this. They are as low as $20, they just don't have the middle waist restraint belt part that wraps around your body

    I wonder why all school busses don't come with roller coaster like restraints that secure the students in their seats all at once. This woulf stop students from physically fighting with eachother and they can have it so individual restraints can be unlocked in caseof an emergency, without unsecuring the other students. This would be for all students, not just special needs.

      Then they use the seat belt cutter that all busses have. They quickly cut the belt that wraps around the back of the seat and then the child can stand up. It takes like 5 seconds to cut. Also all buses have them

      They cannot, see how the best has those black straps, one on the lower left, and one on the lower right. See how the lady sits down and then pushes them threw the gap in the seat. The lady behind the seat grabs them and connects them to the back of the thing that is already connected to the seat

    • @DARK_AMBIGUOUS
      @DARK_AMBIGUOUS 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean the 2 black straps connect to the yellow strap that goes over the top of the seat, then that strap gets tightened as tight as possible to seat so it can't move

    I don't think you can get a child to get in the 2nd time, once he/she knows what you are trying to do. Even for a normal person, it doesn't look easy to get in.

      Most children with special needs are okay with wearing them. They know what it is and are okay with wearing it
