In Germany, Quest 3S is priced at 330 euros for 128 GB and 440 euros for 256 GB version and the Quest 3 is priced at 550 euros for 512 GB. I think I'll save up and get Quest 3 as it has better lenses and higher capacity.
Never owned a VR Quest visor. I tried the Quest 3s today and experiencing MR for the first time. I love it! I bought one with the 254gb just for MR games. No need for going all in for VR.VR exceptions I saw on Meta's website are the upcoming Alien game and RE4 remake VR.
You still see pixel edges on the Quest 3 screens with pancake lenses. The difference in display quality is like 15% better, it's not nearly as night and day dramatic as people say. The FOV is slightly wider and no blurring at the edges, but there is still foveated rendering in most games and the extra FOV is darkened or obscured anyway.
Quest 3 glasses spacer is built face mask. Just hod button down and pull it back to desire space with different level unlike quest 3s only has 1 adjustment setting.
If you are on a budget q3s will get you about 85% of the experience q3 gets you . If you want better lenses and therefor better image quality and can afford the extra 200$ go with the q3 .
Go for quest 3. Ive had 2 and now own 3. Huge improvement on the lenses and the size. Price difference is not that high, but on quality side its quite substantial.
@@ScottThePisces it's not really future proofing. The systems both have the same exact specs. The only difference is the standard 3 has better clarity for content watching or productivity. If you don't care so much about that and only want Games then the 3S is the way to go.

Or, if you don't care about playing newer games/intend to mostly play pcvr, you could get a used quest 2. It'll play almost any game out right now, and it uses the same lens and screen as the quest 3s.

The AVP is not meant to do what this does. It has actual computer hardware and is really their first gen product in the VR space. The Quest has failed for years to do what Apple already accomplished. When it comes to gaming, specifically, the Quest 3 is way ahead. Very different products aimed at doing different things.
@@BankHead980 the AVP was never meant to be a product for everyone, so if people can’t admit that’s the case, they will definitely see it as a failure. The lenses and screens alone in that thing cost a fortune, then you’re adding a Mac Mini inside. I’m curious what Apple will do in the future as they bring prices down. If they really start investing into their Arcade platform, I could see it being huge once it hits a grand or so. AI is going to allow companies to produce software extremely quickly. The meta quest 3s is better than occulus rift v2. And you can put anywhere : bed, room full black, mixed reality, big screen, sifi movie. The sound of the Quest 3s is perfect, better than HomePod for feelings. Very very good price, like Apple, you get for money and more. But I still didn’t find Dead and Buried 😢
The only thing 3s got for is the lower price. Other than that if you want the best standalone get the regular Quest 3 instead. The 3 only way of ipd adjustment is trash and it should remain in Quest 2 which is a great buy still but not very good ipd option
Me and the girlfriend use the quest 2 as basically an android phone on our face. TH-cam videos or music with Facebook and an android game or 2 running all at the same time. Quest 2 is still great, only downside is the no color passthrough. I wonder if a hacker upgrade could make the quest 2 have that
Question for anyone, I've played these a few times and really liked them but didn't know if they were worth it in the long run or will it sit after a few uses.....
It's definitely worth it. Mixed Reality technology is definitely the future and will give you a way better long term experience than "old" solutions like consoles/PC/phones. It is very immersive and isn't just good for playing games but also for doing more efficient work, consuming content like movies and shows on a giant 3D theater screen and hanging out with people in social experiences that feel like you're actually there with people. I recommend getting the Quest 3 if you can afford it since the better lenses and display will give you a clearer/more convincing virtual reality. But if you can't then the Quest 3S for $299 is an incredible value. You will get way more out of that than anything else. New games and experiences are constantly coming and you will never get bored since there are unlimited things to do. Meta is literally investing billions into this future to be ahead of everyone else and they are!
That question can only be answered by the individual. If you find VR to be awesome and plan to use it for whatever VR software you deem worthwhile, then yes it'll get a lot of use. If you feel like it would be boring after a few uses, or the magic has worn off after a month and you throw in the closet, then no. The Quest community can't encourage you to love VR and Mixed reality as they do if you weren't into it to begin with. Personally I love VR and the found the Quest 2 to be a great purchase. However I will admit that it got far less use than my current Quest 3, since I had to use the 2 with my PC to elevate the experience. The quest 3 on the other hand has gotten loads more use thanks to it being more comfortable and having that full color passthrough, and the strength to not need to rely on my PC for majority of use. The Quest 3S having the added capabilities of the 3 is an absolute steal in my opinion.
