Ice packs? Fancy school, my elementary school had a little knotted sandwich baggies with two ice cubes in them. Ftr, that nurse was amazing and never turned away a kid. There were three cots and she always bought otter pops. Middle and high school had no nurse and no ice, but the janitors had ibuprofen, aspirin and would take a shirt from lost&found and makeshift an ice pack/cold compress. One guy once soaked a shirt in hot coffee, put it in a bag, taped it shut and said "it's hot and i reaalllly wouldn't try to drink the coffee. Yes, that support staff was awesome, overly kind and legendary.
