I wasn't aware that the K-390 Stretch 2 Lightweight had been around for over 2 years. I just ordered one on 9/23/23, along with an Endura Lightweight Wharncliff in K-390. It should be a heck of a box cutter! .. I own a Stretch 2 in ZDP-189, tan G-10 and a Strechh 2 XL CruWear, gray G-10. ... I recently bought a pair of Police 4 lightweights in K-390 - plain blade and serrated, but I haven't used either yet. ... Historically, I've been all in on particle metallurgy stainless alloys. The recent foray into particle metallurgy tool steels, including M4 and CPM-D2 and a laminated Rex-40 Police are a departure from my prior affinity for stainless cutlery. ... Love your videos Timbo. Just got one of these. I love the size and profile of this knife. Own almost every spyderco of the last 5 years, and when I put this in my hand and deploy the blade it feels ready for action. The steel is something different and enjoy its non stainless look
I’m very much digging it. Torn on whether I should get the straight spine Stretch in K390 or the G-10 ZDP-189. I do have the old, G-10/full steel liners Police 4 in K390, which is also buttery smooth and I love the steel. Good review, liked, and subbed!
That's on the list very cool blade my man I think I prefer the straight spine more and im a big fan of k390 I've worked on a few but have yet to own one
You seem very knowledgeable on these Spyderco knives, I found a couple at a garage sale this morning, but don’t know much about them but for $5 for both, I wasn’t going to leave them there. Hopefully I will figure out what they are. Awesome video thanks
I'll end up getting one of these eventually as I bought the original Ivory Sprint! I really like this knife in hand, Which is a big deal for me as I prefer G10 versions. Love this blade shape on the lockbox handle! Thanks for sharing Timbo!
I'm having a hard time icking it out of my pocket. I think I've only gone 2 days without carrying it since I got it, and I generally rotate through a different knife each day. The K390 is awesome, and it's comfortable in hand. Thanks for stopping by brother!
I had to have the Ivory version and after I did, I was so happy it's big without only being long like Endura. Next it struck me the straight part of the edge is alot of what I like better on it than other Spyderco knives. Now I'm out of my head excited about Stretch II XL!!!! Everything about the Ivory one but better in bigness!!

The handle profile is different, and the blade is a little different in the belly. It's the old stretch but with a straight back instead. That being said, either one will work well. The differences are minor.
@@timbo4374 Thank you for the info . After I bought my Endura I bought a PM2 for myself and my wife . It was our 5th wedding anniversary and it called for steel . Yay for the 5th : ) If I buy another knife I think my wife will neuter me with it : ( Really good to know my Endura is just as good as the stretch !!
@@alcodie1558 The stretch would be a better skinner if you hunt or trap, but for edc, nothing wrong with the Endura. I have both, and it's a toss up as to which I decide to carry.
