‘School prefect stuff’: NSW Liberals facing scrutiny over council election 'fiasco'

  • The Daily Telegraph journalist James Willis has criticised the NSW Liberal Party after its head office failed to nominate as many as 140 candidates for council elections by the cutoff date.
    “This is school prefect stuff,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
    “It is a fiasco - It could be one of the worst things you’ve heard from a leading political party anywhere in this country for a very long time.”

    This is something where the federal government needs to step in and resolve. Obviously an admin error should not result in a one sided council across multiple districts. Obviously. Fine the libarals for their incompetence and restore the balance.
