I wouldnt call him a freak athlete..Yes he's fast in a straight line. But freak athletes have a combination of elite speed, agility, quickness. But watching the tape, he lacks agility, twitchy, or bounciness to really use his speed at an angle.. Its not hard tackling a guy with a lot of speed if he can only run one direction straight. I dont see him shaking defenders with misses by any athlete moves.. Just only runs straight..
I like this kid, doesn't celebrate after a play just back to work, that's the sign of a true professional and someone who keeps their head in the game! He's a tough running with a touch of finesse to his game.
If you dont think feats of power are highlights then you probably are only a break away speed guy. Youd probably never draft great rbs like brandon jacobs, sean alexander, adrian peterson, charles dickerson, emmitt smith. Short runs weren’t the only thing these guys could do but it was a tool in their bag and some guys dont have the power to drag people those two yards when you need it.
@@SLaird22 sometimes there is nowhere else to run so you try to get the most out of the play. The thing is this kid is dragging people behind him every play. Thats power. And the one run i seen that he ran into the line was at 0:25 and that is a feat of power. He ran into the defensive linemen and with the help of his center and left tackle they pushed the two d-linemen and linebackers 3 yards back. But if you think thats unimpressive go watch a scat back that will get met by one of those linemen and immediately fall down with no gain. The kid breaks a tackle every play and thats really the biggest thing he may not break away but hes breaking tackles and thats power not speed like i said.
The highlights from like 5:50 on really picked up. Some impressive runs from Guerendo. Looking forward to him getting more opportunities in the 9ers offense

Now that I've watched these highlights I get why the Niners took him. Their system will give him some big holes to fly through. And he's a good receiver.
I can see the Lions adding him as a FB or rb #3/4 this season since we haven’t resigned our FB Cabinda and have used a back up LB to fill in @ FB when Cabinda was hurt. Lead blocker potential while still being able to contribute if asked to carry the ball sometimes.
Watching this highlight reel proves I know nothing about football. I can't see why we'd trade up for him. I then read everyone's comments and learnt more than 10 years watching NFL analysts, thanks guys 👍
I'm excited for the pick...but man could he use some tutelage from a good back. He's got great speed, but he doesn't get to top speed soon enough. And, he's gotta use the threat of his speed to do feints on DBs. If he better uses his speed getting to the outside, DBs will have to take more cautious angles to not get burnt, which will expose them to the feint and cut inside. A lot to work with there. Hope he's beyond the feet issues that plagued him in college.
4.33 used to look A LOT faster. They have clearly just mastered the technique to run the 40. Percy Harvin and Tavon Austin were so much quicker and faster
This guy would be a huge pick up for teams looking to run outside zone. Good vision and break when he finds a hole.
