How to Meditate on Scripture
1.) Read over the passage scriptures several times
2.) Listen to the scripture being read to you
3.) Write the scripture several times
4.) Look up the passage in another translation or version
5.) Pray that passage of Scripture over a person or situation
6.) Post the Passage of scripture in common areas
7.) Talk about the passage of scripture to someone

I thank God because it turned out that most of these methods l have actually been using them to meditate and it is the holy spirit himself who taught me...
As I am making plans to homeschool my kids I am meditating on this scripture:
14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,[e] 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.[f] 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Nicole, what an AWESOME verse to focus you for homeschooling!!! I loved reading through those verses with homeschooling in mind. It gave me such a fresh take on that passage. Thank you for sharing. Hey Avery, you are so welcome! My absolutely favorite verse?? That's so hard lol! But probably Luke 1:45 - "Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished." This verse was spoken about Mary when she chose to believe that what God told her would happen in her life would actually take place. I want to do that! I want to believe God and live my life like that!
That's an awesome verse you chose, too! I need strength from the Lord this week to accomplish several important tasks in preparation for Continue, so I receive that reminder of that verse from you for encouragement and strength! Thanks girl

Hi Anna! I have recently switched up my devo game and started writing out the chunk of scripture I’m working through. It’s been so good for intake and really makes me feel connected wit the Holy Spirit. It does take a little longer, so I’ve struggled doing it daily, but thank God for grace! 💛 after I write it out I’ve just done an analysis & application before praying. Nice and simple. Thank you for the inspiration!

Thank you Anna! I’ve always wondered if I was meditating on scripture the “right” way. I love that you give such practical applications on living the Christian life. I am also looking forward to your devo!!!! It sounds amazing! And the reading plan too! I need direction in my Bible reading so it will be so helpful. I find lately I’m doing more devos than real reading and studying of the Word.

I personally like writing but then I like paper planners instead of google calendar, etc :) must be a personality thing!

Thessalonians 4:6 "that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, BECAUSE THE LORD IS AN AVENGER ON THIS THINGS,as we told you beforehand and solemnly warn u" I just recieved this after being angry at people for no reason, it's a good reminder that I don't have the right to get angry at my brothers for God will avenge them 🤣❤️❤️

I really love that you have put together and explained the several ways to meditate. They are all very effective as I have used them all. Wanted to ask what is the best way to choose scripture to meditate and study daily. Early in my journey I would just open my bible and where it opened is where I studied. I know this really isn’t the best way what do you suggest?

I would love to hear more about why you don't think meditating isn't a good idea? I sometimes do it to quiet my heart and mind before praying and then doing a Bible study if I've had a busy day but I'm curious your thoughts about it!

Ok , so with mediating do I need to say a scripture over and over in my head so it can get in my heart! I’ve been doing this and it’s really hard.

Cheridan that is SO FUN that you are going to be a Bible camp counselor! Youth camp was my absolute favorite time of the year when I was a youth pastor!! I miss it a ton. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Not only does God give us a secure and everlasting identity in Him. He also calls us to be strong and courageous. We may not feel courage in the face of opposition, conflict, redicule or death but never forget friends that God is with us always and nothing can separate us from Him.
