Excellent video Liron. Rob is a very impressive and hard-working painter. I see him occasionally in Manchester and whatever the weather, rain or shine, even in winter, he's always outside somewhere working away relentlessly.
This is my favorite style of oil painting, when 10 feet away it looks so detailed and realistic but when you get up close it all falls apart. ❤️ love ❤️
Not only the numerous array of colour hints but also the values and temperatures that are utilised to make these paintings interesting. By artistic standards Rob Pointon is as good a painter as many other artists, but his loose brushwork and his colour palette is what marks him out above many.
That’s it exactly Liron, I know exactly what you mean by seeing a scene in a highly imaginative way and then having the skill to get that down in a painting. That’s the whole point of it to me too, and the whole difficulty! I thought his treatment of vehicles in motion was incredible!
Wow! Genius is definitely the word. Thanks so much for introducing me to this spectacular artist. Loved the unique perspectives and super unique style and dynamism. All around awesome. Thanks so much, Liron, definitely enjoyed this.
Another brilliant English artist of the same genre as Rob Pointon is Peter Brown, often referred to as 'Pete the Street' as he plein air paints streets and architecture in all conditions at places like Edinburg, London, Bath and also european locations.
Just wondering if you could do a round up of the various Escoda Plein Air sets that you have been using. They look very good, but looking at the red set, blue set, green set and black set, I would be baffled by which to buy! What is your take on which set would be best for which type of painting. Do you have a go to favourite having used them all. Be interested in your take on it! What do you think of them in comparison to Kolinsky sable brushes? Hope you can do a quick vid about this. Thank you for all you do!
Hi again Alison! I indeed plan on doing a comprehensive review of all the sets together 😁 I wanted to use them extensively enough (: Coming up probably next week!! My current go to is the black set + the small pointy brush from the red set. Regarding Kolinsky - I believe some of them are kolinsky sable (though not sure if it makes sense as they are synthetic 🤔)
Thank you! 😊🙏🏼 You can check out what I currently have in the gallery - LironGallery.com Or email me at Liron@LironGallery.com and ask me about any of the paintings I shared so far (:

There's so much magic to that looseness
His paintings are extremely painterly.... excellent.

Indeed! It's amazing how much movement he achieves 😍
I think the colours are also truly expertly done, extremely realistic, despite the pretty rough abstraction. Very great painter indeed!
Lots of beautiful paintings, thank you Liron 🙏😎
My pleasure 😊🙏🏼
I enjoy sharing artists with others! Thank you for watching

Very interesting art indeed! Thank you for pointing me in his direction 🙏😊
May cover his art in the future
Rob's my brother. He was amazingly talented even aged 5 and he has worked hard to improve that natural talent.

There is a movement.....in all his work....as if something is going to happen in any second
It's great coz I've actually been there and painted also
Amazing! So you're very familiar with the spots (:
