      Guys, i generally love sponsorships because they allow for better content in the end but BetterHelp was fined 7.8 million last year by the FTC for sharing over 7 million customers sensitive mental health information to advertisers from IP addresses, email addresses, case file information and have been placed on a ban order to prevent any potential for further sharing information. Not to mention some of the other issues like charging for "perks" that are free and widely available in-office standardized therapy.
      I just feel it isn't the best look for the channel and would appreciate any consideration.

      Alright, hear me out. A colosseum on the map that can be a "safe" zone inside protected by all factions. Once inside you can either turn on some spot lights in the sky or shoot off some signal flares to signal other players that you want to battle. You meet there and maybe even get to bet on 1v1, 2v2 fights. Idk, I might be insane

    What i really like about this guy is he VERY aware of the problems in modern FPS. He's clued up on what the communities are complaining about. Im really impressed.

    • @tnima95
      @tnima95 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It sounds impressive, but I really don’t think this guy truly knows what he is doing. He has a problem called “mission bleed”. Every community has complaints that are unique to those specific games, and gray zone warfare is trying to solve for problems that don’t even exists; gray zone warfare is going to be different, and until it releases we won’t know what our complaints will be. I liked that Jeese suggested making it a little more like dayz where you have high tier loot areas that naturally leads to pvp areas, but then the dev responded by saying that he wants to hold off on big content updates until he makes the game less buggy for the first year. It sounds like he’s referring to the Tarkov community when he says something to the effect of “the community hates it when they release content updates while it feels like they’re not addressing game breaking bugs” but Greyzone warfare shouldn’t have the same type of game breaking bugs that Tarkov has because it’s running on unreal engine 5. The only reason this is a complaint in the Tarkov community is because the game runs on unity and the database architects are trying to untangle 8 year old Spaghetti code. Another problem that this grayzone dev is preparing for that doesn’t really exist. Also, every one of the games that he is trying to emulate has maps with way more verticality and environments. Grayzone looks really flat, with a few towns that act as points of interest. So I anticipate people will just be walking in straight lines from POI to POI, and player rotations will be really straight forward. I want to see more hills and rivers n shit. Maybe a dam like the mountain bridge area of Verdansk. I’m not saying this game can’t be successful, I’m just worried that they have attempted to make this game too big, and that they won’t be able to provide meaningful content updates or changes to its core mechanics often enough to keep the game healthy.

  • @MessedUpSystem

    Mara's opinion in how to handle the AI made me realise the frustration of Tarkov's playerbase with the AI probably comes in part for how different you have to play against AI vs against players. With players you "need" to be hyper agrro and abuse the netcode to kill them before they even see you, while with AI (not saying they should have absurd precision at 200m with iron sights and neither instant reaction time, just to clarify) you need to be much more careful since you can just get one-tapped. I've noticed that when I play slow and methodical, I may die more often to players, but I basically will never die to an AI unless I don't know the map and where they can come from, while when I try to play hyper aggressive, I turn my brain off against scavs because "oh it's just a scav, let me kill it real quick" and then get instantly sent back to lobby. I do agree the AI in Tarkov needs to be downtuned urgently, but I also believe a big factor in why people are frustrated with the scavs is because if you play hyper aggressive against them you will get one-tapped more often than not, creating an asymetry in how you need to engage AI and players

    • @thomascostes2792
      @thomascostes2792 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think that the way scav AI is now is good tool to slow down the players that tended to play to much agressive. I don't play Tarkov to get another CoD experience, I play it to engage in tactical firefights.
      The only fact that now even Lyndmark is playing slower just makes me believe it's a step in a good direction.

    • @MessedUpSystem
      @MessedUpSystem 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thomascostes2792 I don't know man, I think the scavs shouldn't be terminators with perfect aim and instant reaction time haha, I think the game should be fixed to make slow and tactical play more viable, like fixing the netcode, making stealth actually a thing (not crabbing and making literally no sound, I mean as making less overall sound, but still being audible when getting very close, DayZ for instance stealth is very much viable even tho you still make sound), nerfeing comtacs so they are more realistic instead of making you hear further (and for the love of whatever you believe in, make them all equivalent), fixing those bugs that make you hear someone way farther than you should, making it so your aim sways a lot more after sprinting and possibly take longer to aim after sprinting also (come on it is just ludicrous that you can full sprint for minutes and instantly scope up and have basically perfect 0 sway), making variable zoom scopes actual variable zoom instead of only min OR max with no in-between (this IF the scope is capable of varying it's zoom to begin with, there are many scopes that should be variable and are fixed currently). These sort of changes would make slow and tactical gameplay actually a thing without the need of broken overpowered scavs

    One way you can telegraph an attack... is to make AI mobs go from having the gun on their hip, or strapped on there back... and they move it up to their shoulder... so then you know they are aware and are about to shoot... or atleast in a more "aware" state. Many old games did this.

      Nikita knows Tarkov is on its last leg and so he's going to milk it as much as possible with MTX and Better Than EoD™ packages until GZW kills his game. Then he will give the delusional fanboys a "1.0" update (with 60% of the promised features missing) and will go on to make Russia 2028. They'll probably have to change the name to Russia 2038 because Tarkov will still be in "beta" in 2028.

    Also for question items. He said there may be a picture of 3 buildings. I think it should be a mixed of dynamic item spawn like Veritas said as well as which building it spawns in. For instance it could spawn anywhere within the 3 the buildings. So now you have time fighting to get to the quest buildings plus defending those buildings while searching for the item in the buildings.

    I will say this was a solid interview. Nothing too prying and also him not really saying a whole lot was kind of nice. I thought hearing his perspective on not only Gray Zone but also just other games in general was pretty cool. It's not very often you get to hear devs just talk about other games and what they may like or dislike about them.
    It was kind of funny that he threw some jabs at Tarkov, that being said it's kind of a bold move. We all know Tarkov has it's issues but if he thinks that Gray Zone won't have it's own set of hurdles would just be silly. I think they'll get an idea real quick about how people feel about it as they keep seeing more videos and as it starts to come to fruition. You can say the game is going to come out in a early early access but that doesn't mean anything to most people. Tarkov has been getting shit on for 8 years now, and look at how many other games came out in "Alpha" and just ended up closing up shop.
    I do hope the game does well because I can't imagine being a dev and putting in the hours they do to have a game ultimately be unsuccessful. Solid episode!

    40:58 Every time a conversation about item spawning comes up with these kinds of games, it makes me wish they all took the same approach that Road To Vostok is taking - items are physically "thrown" in random directions when they spawn, so that you actually have to search for things. Otherwise, where to find certain items becomes very formulaic. It's not a completely perfect solution, but it's one of the best I've seen.

    As much as respawning is cool it's the lack of respawn in Tarkov that makes Tarkov feel like Tarkov. There is a certain permanence of death in Tarkov and therefore you fear for your digital life more and in a different way then in any other game I've personally ever played. And that is special.
    Should every game be like that? Noooooo lol but I love that in Tarkov as much as I hate it when I die.
    In Tarkov, in a given Raid, like in life, I got one shot to make it happen. That's it. And that's Tarkov. And that's great!
    Rust for example is the exact opposite. I can essentially respawn forever. And Rust is an amazing and super fun game in its own right. But it cannot evoke the type of fear for my digital life like Tarkov does.
    Gray zone so far will be somewhere in-between Tarkov and Rust in terms of survival emotions.

    The map looks way too flat imo. There needs to be areas with more verticality. The map is so huge, you could have a dam somewhere. A place that makes you feel small because the structure is so big. Some hills, maybe with a river and several crossings like on Customs. If they want to truly understand why people play Tarkov, they can’t just look purely at game mechanics, they’re going to have to squeeze in elements of every map in Tarkov into one. It kinda amazes me that they can say something like, “call of duty didn’t understand why people enjoyed Tarkov when making DMZ” (which I agree with 200%) but at the same time, gray zone warfare seems just as far removed from the core elements of Tarkov. Honestly, I think this is probably one of the biggest cases of mission bleed I’ve ever seen a developer admit to. It’s a game that started small, then they were like “what if” and the game got bigger and bigger to the point where it might be too big for them to handle. I don’t think that they will be able to appease any one community of gamers, and because of this, they won’t be able to provide content updates in a meaningful ways that will keep the game healthy. Sure, they can spend the first year making the game run super smooth like butter, but it won’t even be worth their time if no one is interested in the game. Besides, a game running on unreal engine isn’t going to feel super buggy to begin with. The only reason this is a complaint with the Tarkov community is because the game runs on Unity and BSG database architects are trying to untangle ancient spaghetti code. Grey zone warfare is going to have to focus on making big changes to its core in order to find its niche. @jessekazam

      You make a lot of good points you do but, if you watch those gameplay sessions posted recently there are lots of good hills and valleys in the draw distance. The town they showed also, has a great sense of scale w the immersion and detail presented. The size of trees and the setting of sneaking through a jungle is also impressive.
      I think this game often keeps being compared to Tarkov but also, this dev never claims its going to replace e tarkov. They just mention the shortcomings of all shooters and the gaps they are looking to fill

    Just like Diablo and other MMO types, pvp could be toggled on/off, though there’d have to be a way to identify non-pvp-ers so you don’t pop some shots at an invulnerabile player, give your position away, the get rushed by every other pvp-er nearby lol

    54:00 ish, talking about factions, how cool would it be if the "most powerful" faction from the last wipe, had some special benefit. The second place could have neutral, and the last place something else. Make each wipe start dynamic, and give players a narrative of their own between wipes.

    What if they did something like when people in your squad die you have to secure the area and call for a heli extract for injuried. Then once the heli arrives back to FOB that’s when you respawn (simulating treatment) and you can choose to run same kit or switch it up and redeploy.

    Amazing how the dev never realised during production even for a moment that every faction looks identical.like that is a huge oversite also the ai are either dumb as fuck or the terminator and they dont even go into any of the buidling so makes the building pointless on the map beside collecting quest items.

    Be careful with the "look for the item I know its here somewhere" because Tarkov did one of those in the new map and it sucks. Find a wine bottle, ok sure seems simple enough, btw there are 30 billion wine bottles that are the wrong one but look the same....have fun.

      This whole thing sounded like a paid advertisement, there wasnt once a disagreement, both hosts saying they want things from greyzone that tarkov doesnt have like random quest items, yet tarkov has it and it's annoying as hell. The talks about not having to go to a wiki, the first thing everyone will do is still go to a wiki. Theyre looking through rose tinted glasses.
      People often complain about scavs being overpowered because they can one shot you, yet this guys saying you will get insta killed if you mess up. The whole thing sounds stupid
