The Friends of San Pedro Valley Park are pleased to welcome Dr. Salvador Jorgensen, Marine Ecologist and Assistant Professor at California State University Monterey Bay. On a Zoom webinar, he will provide an overview of the Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) populations, the apex predator of oceanic waters. He will present ecological data from tracking studies and population surveys of white sharks and related marine mammals. The emerging picture illustrates how predator recoveries and climate-driven range shifts are changing species communities and their interactions in the California Current ecosystem.
