What's interesting to me here is the progression of computer programming into the music world. 20 years ago i was using similar software to create multimedia presentations, dragging/dropping video segments and audio segments into linear 'score' . this is so cool to see applied to music and instruments.
My dad was killed when i was 6 months old and my mum struggled so much to raise me. I dont know why as I was listening to your beat, in my head I felt as if I was telling the whole world what i went through growing up. Your beats are truly something else. This one reached my heart bro. You are an amazing artist and I hope you blow up soon.
It`s amazing, man! Coz we all see classic trap melodies when each tone sounds in each tact and its so boring and annoying. But this beat inspires me to make smthg cool as it ! Big thanks!
1:35 If you run out of cpu, bounce your track, then drop the bounced track into a new session. You get all your cpu back plus you can keep working on the song you just bounced
Insane Monkey101 TH-cam is such a valuable tool! Don’t take it for granted. Here are some essential channels for FL beginners: Simon Servida, internet money, Cxdy Cxdy, Chu, and Chuki Beats to name a few of my faves. good luck and have fun!! 😁😁😁
Doesn’t quantize his beats?? What you mean lol? He does the drums in Fl’s channel rack so the drums are completely quantized and if you’re talking about melodies, cash doesn’t do anything much different to what Ocean did in this video.
06:00 YO I was searching for a strum feature in logic for long, TH-cam search always showed me scripter stuff, which I didn’t understand. Thanks dude, doing those manually was way to annoying
Tip for people try to quantize as little as possible, if it’s slightly off that will just sound more natural. If it’s a chilled track you want it slightly late off the beat, opposite for up tempo to create a driving feel. This doesn’t need to be forced, as your playing will naturally do it with the feel of the music. If you must quantize then tighten up the bass drum, so you have a solid beat running throughout, everything else can feed of that. Stuff like bass, keys etc should always sound as natural as possible.
Dude promote yourself more, you are sick producer and you deserve to suceed.I can see that you are passionate about what you do and i wish you the best.Keep up the good work.👍🏻
Ivan Williams i dont know much about the making of beats since im just a rapper but if you want you can send me some of your work and i could see if i like it?
Yeah. Is funny though, musicians today know 100x more about actual music than artists of the past. You have to if you want to produce beats or music like this, if you got a guitar though you can just wank away at it without any real knowledge.
I am watching oceans video from beggininh..from the day he started from scratch. He inspires me a lot. Thanks for this valuable info...god bless u man.
Tip for anyone: record all the parts of your song and then work on the volumes, panning, and EQ. Don't mix during the recording phase and don't mix individual tracks in solo but instead in the context of the rest of the beat.
I am a super noob and I love music. I've been wanting to do this all my life...is there a video you can make for beginners to tell us what we need to start and how to learn?
missbrownies90 i know a las vid. I’m just starting as well. But it’s in Spanish and it’s on FL studio which is different from this one. The one ocean uses is Logic
Start with fl studio mobile, it's only 15 bucks. Just start messing around making drum beats and piano melodies and guitar and such. You eventually get use to it. And it's also a fun pass time.
ngl, I got an OCD attack when he made the intro chords, the third chord was supposed to have the highest and lowest notes separated by octaves but they were separated by 7th's 😬😬
Flute came in like 😳🔥
syn! i was wondering how you got so goddamn good, now i see why. you watch ocean
Yo syn
The whole beat is fire
I'll watch the video and see if he created yet another banger
Your everywhere man
That flute melody took the beat to a whole new level
Ocean, your videos have helped me so much in the beginning of my beatmaking, you’ve taught me a lot and are one of the reasons I started producing
BerkiiProdx keep going bro
Jerry Larry thanks a lot man, it means so much
Glad to have helped bro 🙌🏿
Serious skills when it comes to pencilling in melodies ☝️
I've watched maybe 4 videos now, and I've already learned so much. There's been like a huge transformation in the quality of my beats!
Ocean please put ur beats on Spotify or apple music like so he can see

Even in the last 6 months you’ve gotten so much better as a producer
this is not just music, this is art
music is already a form of art 💀
9:01 “time to add drums” I was like how is it so fire and the drums haven’t came in yet😂

you can see how happy he always is in his videos definitely a dedicated producer who really has love for music, respect!
Watching your workflow is magical.
Jeez I learn so much from these vids man, appreciate you sharing your talent with us ❤
Ocean, your voice is so calming. i don't make beats, but i watch your videos, sort of like watching Bob Ross on PBS.
Congratulations on a 100k! You’re very underrated, keep up the grind.

don't know 🔥
Honestly, all Ocean's beats are fire. We don't even need to watch the whole video to know that a banger is coming. 🔥
You should try making a cashmoneyap type beat. He doesn’t quantize his beats so I think this could be a challenge

I'm just starting out so I don't understand everything. Are things like "kontakt" and "Alchemy" extensions... Or sound packs?
