Yep first step is try with a board and hammer to split chain after an hour of cussing and repenting and smashing fingers just go get the the chain breaker
Pete, though many of us do not have a clue about what we are sharing with you, our true joy is to see how happy the show makes you and to watch you be totally in the moment. Have a great Father's Day. Bob in Nevada
Pete thank you. 62 years ago I worked on a farm about a 1/2 from home on the Main Street. The owner let me take his 300 home for lunch. Made me feel good at 14 years of age.
I found your channel and I just love it. Especially like it when you are tearing. Things apart And then put them all back together. I really enjoy that. Thank you and I just hope you keep ongoing on.
Thanks for taking us along for the show. I always enjoy you sharing your knowledge and specifics on the various tractors. No where else could I get this. Keep them coming and thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.
Boy are you in your element!!! You're loving every minute of it. So glad to see you so happy!!! I suppose having a couple hundred people recognize and talk to you doesn't hurt either. And you question whether you should stay in farming...really??? Happy Fathers Day Pete - send our best to the family and we'll see you soon.
I went to the Red Power Roundup Show 2024 in Spencer, Iowa , it was fantastic. We visited the first 2 days, Thursday and Friday but unfortunately Saturday and Sunday had to be cancelled due to the flooding. There were quite a few gold demonstrators there. Love your videos. Best wishes. Peter. 🚜🇬🇧
Pete: The tool that you didn't recognize is a Peoria Steel Chain Detacher Tool made by Tool Hall Castings Co. I believe that Moline Steel also made this type of tool. They were used for the flat chain links. My dad had a couple of them on the farm.
My Dad used to use that "flat chain tool" as a backside hand flattening anvil when we replaced lost rivets on the cycle bar mower. It was a handy thing to have around for sure.
Happy Father's Day, Pete! 🎉 Thank you so much for the wonderful memories you stir up in my heart of my precious grandpa. I used to ride on his knee as he was plowing, I used to think I was in control of the whole operation! Thank you again, stay safe, God bless.
Fantastic event ! History at it's best so enjoyable. I live in Lancaster Pa.. Amish area and some big farms. Fresh produce for sure and whoopie pies. Many farm stands and local restaurants. Thank you for sharing Pete.....I really enjoy your videos.❤
Tractors changed the world for farmers and propelled industry into new heights. Probably one of the greatest periods when farmers and their children transitioned into inventors, engineering and industrial tycoons.
That red wrench with slots in it was used to take apart the square links of chain used in manure speaders and anything that used the old square link chain, that was common in old equipment.
Your enthusiasm for the Red Power Showdown is contagious! Your passion for this event brings excitement and unity. And I am Floating Village Life, eager to join in this thrilling experience!
Pete this was really great never been to anything like this show before I really enjoyed the tractor parade the hay bailing all of it was just great Thanks for sharing it. Hope you have a very blessed week.
Love your channel was raised on a farm in Kansas I’m a little bit older than you. I went into corporate America and still have not escaped. I absolutely love the contact on your channel every bit of it. You have that same entertaining Gene that Derek Bieri has over on vice grip.
Excellent video Pete :) , I never seen 1939 US Army tractor in Dark Green ever any tractor shows and nice Tractors all pretty up to see also super one to ! Also glad you had fun at Red Power Boom 💥 and thank you doing a excellent video!
Pete, The red tool that you picked up in the exhibit hall that had the slots is a tool used to assemble and disassemble chains, the style of chain like you have in the bottom of your manure spreader. You would slide a link into one of the slots, kink the chain and use a hammer to drive the links apart.
Thanks Pete! So many memories for me being an ex- Inter parts guy who worked for a couple of dealers here in Oz. (1 being in the hills as mainly market gardeners & the other out in the country for more larger farms) We sold Inter Trucks & I resorted a few including Scouts for one of my bosses too! Thanks for sharing. 👍
The red tool you didn't know what you never new what it was is for taking elevator chain links apart that are stuck. Might work on manure spreaders also. Thanks for the tour, enjoyed it.
Happy Father’s Day Pete. My grandpa has a farmall 400 with a broken starter so I got off, fixed, and running again and he was happy to see his favorite tractor running again.
Farming history in upstate NY is so rich. Your knowledge of farming and machinery is extensive and fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing your days with us. Tractor parades always put a smile on my face. Much appreciation from this older person who lives on a small farm in Delaware County, NY.
I was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY and remember Chisholm-Ryder. Along with that bean harvester they also manufactured grape harvesters along with other combine harvesters. Thanks, Pete, for bringing back an old memory.
Interesting to see the original and restored vintage IH tractors. Lots of TLC went into these. The red cast slotted tool was a chain breaker for link type chain. Guess I'm giving my age away as many of the letter series tractors were common during my younger days. Never too old to learn more about old IH iron!!!
It was neat seeing our two little guys running around so excitedly there and talking about the tractors like ol' farmers.😂 Getting to meet you was icing on the cake! And I see myself (the missus) and my 2 boys made it in the background of your video at 19:57. Thanks for taking the time to talk yo your little fans. 🙂
That looked like a wonderful tractor show to me Mr. Pete! So many pretty Farmalls! And I am so happy that you met some of your viewers and met some fans. I would call that a great 2 days.
Pete, Thanks for taking us along to the Red Power Showdown. Seeing all of that red power brings back a lot of good memories of working on the farm and driving some of those older tractors.
Pete, I primarily watch the channel for the animal content, "C'mon cows". However as a gearhead I have to appreciate your instant knowledge of every machine you see. Thanks for the tour sir.
Pete!!!!! What a great video! .....the only thing I liked (slightly less than your smiling face and excellent tractor information)...... was the mention of the GREEN grass. We love GREEN grass in this part of PA. It just goes to show....that even GREEN grass lovers can't get enough of JAFAF! Keep up the "Good work" Rich from PA.
Happy Father's day Pete. Thanks for taking us along to the show. That heavy thing with the slots in is for holding flat chain to hammer sections together or apart. Saves stinging fingers
Pete. That heavy tool that you showed us at around the four minute mark is for holding a flat chain ( like what would be used for the web of a manure spreader) steady while you hit it with a hammer to take it apart. Makes taking a chain apart a breeze. Happy father's day!!
Pete, I recently worked with a gentleman who knows you in person. He, too, was a farmer. He had dairy cows. He used to share stories with me about how hay used to be baled with wire. This video just brought all those memories flooding back. Those very same bale wires are still used today. Only we use them now for baling cardboard, paper and plastic bales.
Great video as always Pete , on our farm we have two farmall tractors ,one is an AWD9 and a 706 with wheatland fenders both tractors were built here in australia
The red slotted tool is a chain breaker for flat chains. Happy Father's day Pete.
We had one on the farm. I never saw it used but we had one.
I have seen a couple of these - we had one on our farm and so did my Grandad. Never saw it used though.
I've got one used it about a month ago on the old manure spreader kinda helps separating the chain
Yep first step is try with a board and hammer to split chain after an hour of cussing and repenting and smashing fingers just go get the the chain breaker
I got a lesson on one of those when I was a kid in the 60's, helping my Dad replace a broken chain link on a NewIdea manure spreader
My son Garrett is still on cloud nine that you interviewed him about his Gold Demonstrators. You are his favorite TH-camr to watch.
Mine too.
You should start your own channel.
Happy Fathers Day Pete and to your Dad. Enjoy your Day! ❤️
Pete, though many of us do not have a clue about what we are sharing with you, our true joy is to see how happy the show makes you and to watch you be totally in the moment. Have a great Father's Day. Bob in Nevada
I don't know much about tractors, but hearing you passionately talk about them makes me love them.
I never get tired going with Pete to the tractor shows, thanks so much for taking us along on your journey.
Terrific educational video on Farmall/IH tractors. Happy Father's Day.
It was a pleasure to meet and talk to you Thursday over at the hay press. Thank you for coming to our show!
Nice to meet you too!
Love old Tractors thanks for taking us along.
Always a delight, thank you Pete and Hillary!
Pete thank you. 62 years ago I worked on a farm about a 1/2 from home on the Main Street. The owner let me take his 300 home for lunch. Made me feel good at 14 years of age.

You’re welcome Terri.
That hay press was really interesting! Glad you had a chance to catch them in action.
I found your channel and I just love it. Especially like it when you are tearing. Things apart And then put them all back together. I really enjoy that. Thank you and I just hope you keep ongoing on.

Oh Pete, you big kid lol. I love those beautiful machines but, the hay bailer takes the cake.

Tractors changed the world for farmers and propelled industry into new heights. Probably one of the greatest periods when farmers and their children transitioned into inventors, engineering and industrial tycoons.
I enjoyed seeing you enjoy yourself. You work hard making great videos and in this one you got a chance to see your kind of stuff.
That red wrench with slots in it was used to take apart the square links of chain used in manure speaders and anything that used the old square link chain, that was common in old equipment.
Still have one. Still use it.
Thanks for taking us along. You provide a lot of information on these tractors ...thanks!
Your enthusiasm for the Red Power Showdown is contagious! Your passion for this event brings excitement and unity. And I am Floating Village Life, eager to join in this thrilling experience!
Great video, very informative and very interesting, you’re very Knowledgeable !!! 👏👏
Pete thank you for showing the hay press. I run one with my family as a display. 1938 owned by my great grand father.
Always enjoy seeing you out in the public, you should get the kids to run the farm when you go out so Hillary can go too!
Pete this was really great never been to anything like this show before I really enjoyed the tractor parade the hay bailing all of it was just great Thanks for sharing it. Hope you have a very blessed week.
I glad that Pete got to go to the Red Power Show. Some really interesting equipment on display there. Thanks for this video.
the hay baler bell to let you know it's the right size is so simple, yet so needed. Love to see how people come up with solutions.
Love your channel was raised on a farm in Kansas I’m a little bit older than you. I went into corporate America and still have not escaped. I absolutely love the contact on your channel every bit of it. You have that same entertaining Gene that Derek Bieri has over on vice grip.

Happy Father’s Day Pete. My grandpa has a farmall 400 with a broken starter so I got off, fixed, and running again and he was happy to see his favorite tractor running again.
In a place like that, Pete is a rockstar.

Man that 806 was inspiring. I have our family 806 ready for restore and need to get into it.
Pete, you need an International Scout. I had a red pickup style Scout as a kid in 1973. Great little truck, 343 ci V8 4 speed.
It was neat seeing our two little guys running around so excitedly there and talking about the tractors like ol' farmers.😂
Getting to meet you was icing on the cake!
And I see myself (the missus) and my 2 boys made it in the background of your video at 19:57.

That baler was awesome. Those bales probably were heavy and tight.
Happy Father's day Pete. Thanks for taking us along to the show. That heavy thing with the slots in is for holding flat chain to hammer sections together or apart. Saves stinging fingers
Very educational. And those kids are all adorable. Makes me miss the country.
Pete. That heavy tool that you showed us at around the four minute mark is for holding a flat chain ( like what would be used for the web of a manure spreader) steady while you hit it with a hammer to take it apart. Makes taking a chain apart a breeze. Happy father's day!!
