I am younger and still very confused. What does it mean to split before trim? Why can't we just select bit on left, bit on right, and delete "trim" bit in between the lines?

Excellent refresher. Over the years I had become conversant with several video editing systems - including Final Cut Pro - but the most recent was more than a decade ago. As I watched this video I edited a test project of my own. It went very well and, I'm sure, saved me a lot of time. I was surprised how many of the keyboard and mouse commands were unchanged. They came back easily. Thanks!

@@VideoZeus Here it is! A bit clumsy, but that is my very first day! Thanks again for your instructions! The only thing I've missed in your tutorial is how to fade out the music at the end. @@VideoZeus One more (important) question. Before importing them, I view and name each clip with key words for quick reference once they are imported. I am used to working in Premiere Pro, which imports the clips with their names at the bottom of each clip. The names are not showing in iMovie, so I am having to view each clip to find the sections in each clip that I want. Searching "Help" comes up with nothing. Is there a way to find the filenames within iMovie?
