Usually it's a little awkward when an established channel focused on one person introduces a partner into the mix but for your channel it has felt SO natural from the very beginning when Derk arrived. It's been a lot of fun seeing him experience life in China, trying all the unfamiliar foods and he matches up against your energy perfectly. And as a Dutch person I feel like I can connect with his German casual spirit so easily lmao. It's been a lot of fun seeing you guys on so many activities/dates/holidays. It just flows together in the most natural way.
To be fully honest the video quality was worse BUT there was something incredibly endearing about seeing Derk trying his best to direct this video, as well as seeing the two of you together! All in all a fun video idea and I wouldn’t mind if you did this again in the future!
Derk is so adorable I can't😅. He has such a unique sense of humor that's hard to describe - it's like he's not funny but funny unintentionally. That's the best kind in my opinion. You two look lovely together.
"You know, imagine, in case you die, you die at Disneyland." 😂😂😂😂😂 Derek is so chaotic! That came out of nowhere, and it was hilarious! That stoic german delivery too making it seem like you should be privileged to have your last moments in Disneyland lol !!!!
I like the new video directed by Derk! It felt candid, natural, and you two have a great chemistry. He added humour to the flair! And HK Disneyland looks fun. I vote for another video directed by Derk! 😄
Hidden indoor food street, the local's secret place - 葵涌廣場 Kwai Chung Plaza,a lots of different food to try, e. g. HK style 四川凉皮, Octopus ball and you will feel surprised
This video is so chaotic and I'm totally here for it!!! I mean Derk's camera shaking technique really brought us there amid the disarray. The low-angle shots absolutely enhanced the sense of powerlessness against the hot and humid weather and let's not forget about the random shots of Amy caught in a sweating mess. It's all done so beautifully like nothing we have seen before here on Amy's channel LOL jokes aside it's really really refreshing to see Amy's day from Derk's point of view! Oh, and 16:45 was awesome!!! Bonus is Amy's Disneyland dance 9:41 and Derk's signature dance move at 10:05!! Just keeps getting better. It's so much fun and thanks for bringing us along to Disneyland in HK :)
I remember in those first videos how stiff Derek was so to see him so open and comfortable now (the Disney dance!) is amazing! I hope you both have an amazing time filming this. It's so natural and fun seeing you guys in this video!!
Man, I love how much the Disney Imagineers transformed the castle. When the park opened in 2005, it was just a cheaply built Disneyland as the early 2000s was a very rough time for the Walt Disney Company, and so it was just a copy of the original in Anaheim until they finally did something about it to give the park its own identity. Similar to Shanghai Disneyland's castle, it represents not just one princess but multiple Disney princesses from Mulan to Pocahontas! And it's even better with the mountains in the background! But my favorite thing about HK Disneyland as a train buff is the Disneyland Resort Line. I mean, the way they designed the stations with how Sunny Bay has a futuristic gateway look while Disneyland Resort station has Victorian-style architecture to signify that passengers are travelling through time between the fantasy world of the Disneyland Resort and the city (the jingles you hear in the train's announcements reflect this too). And that's just the stations, because as you showed here, I love how cute the trains are with Mickey-shaped handles, Mickey-shaped windows, and bronze statues of characters on display. The line was also the first on the MTR to be automated, the South Island would become the second line eleven years later!
guys let's get this to 10K!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the video, was smiling the entire time :) really made my day as I'm sure with a lot of other people too.
Here's some Hong Kong Disneyland facts for you: One of the exclusive rides at Hong Kong Disneyland is Mystic Manor, which opened in 2013 as part of a major expansion of the park to increase attendance. Mystic Manor was inspired by the Haunted Mansion at other Disney parks. They built Mystic Manor instead of Haunted Mansion because of traditional Chinese beliefs that the deceased are honored rather than feared. The design of Mystic Manor's exterior was inspired by the now-demolished Bradbury Mansion in Los Angeles. To avoid problems of cultural backlash, the resort was built by incorporating Chinese culture, customs and traditions when designing and building the resort, including adherence to the rules of feng shui. Like how a bend was put in a walkway near the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort entrance so good qi energy would not flow into the South China Sea. Or how 4 is of course considered bad luck in Chinese culture, and so there are no fourth-floor buttons in the elevators at the Art Deco Hollywood Hotel, or other hotels in the resort.
the 3.6.9. restaurant appeared at 6:40 is a good place. I went there with family since i was a kid. I have a Scotish friend went there twice in a roll when she visited HK
You two are a cute couple! Derk's first foray into travel vlogs was good and unique. Definitely captured his German sensibilities! 😄👍🏼Great content as always, Amy! 👋🏼😊
Fantastic video. I would give Derk 10,000 likes myself if I could! He was relaxed and funny. By the way, Amy, Derk spending Australian $100 on fans alone is a drop in the bucket for him because I am sure he gets paid big bucks by Audi. I love that he was so thoughtful to buy fans for both of you. Hong Kong is not the place to visit in the summer. The humidity is unbearable and makes it so much hotter.
When a channel is ran by genuine person(s) it is always good to watch. You two have are very open minded and not walking around instilling western culture on a foreign land. Always a joy to watch when TH-cam recommends it.
Wow! It's so heartwarming to watch both of you in this delightful video, especially when directed by Derk, even though it makes you dizzy lol!. I wouldn't really relish walking in temperatures above 30°C though! 😄 I'm really excited about the prospect of seeing a more diverse range of videos in the future.
Amy! The one cab you guys were trying to wave down was out of service, normally if they're available it shows a lit up circular thing at the front, in that case they had a sign on top of it
I would recommend the Hongkong style "street sweeping" food adventure. It's like, you go to Shumshuipo or Mongkok, and check out those small food outlets (possibly no seats) and small eateries. You want to try out those unhealthy food available, but they are yummy.
"Du feinschmecker du"... hahaha always love Blondie's videos, took many of her suggestions of where to eat last time I was back in Sydney (sadly, Germany is sadly lacking in Asian food)... but this was quite refreshing. Gut gemacht Derk!
It was a fun video ! Derk really got into the Disney spirit. You both definitely need to go back when the weather is cooler so you can enjoy more rides.
Hi Amy. I’m not a commenter on TH-cam but I have to stop and write: you are so funny mimicking Derk’s directing style😂. But don’t make fun of him too much coz he is a natural! You guys are so cute together. What’s the word you always use to describe something fantastic? … oh UMAMI! That’s it! That’s how I will describe you cute couple in food language😂 Have fun in HongKong!
Welcome to HK, I would suggest you to try the Oi Man Sang in ShamShuiPo, it's a kind of hawker restaurant along the street. If you need more info you can reach me. Cheers!
Derk’s directorial debut was hilarious. Lol’d a few times. You did come at the worst time of year for outdoor activities though. HK is so hot in July/August. Best time to come is Nov-Feb….it’s winter but similar to a Sydney winter so not that cold. I’m a fellow Aussie living in Hong Kong. Like some others have suggested, I’d recommend coming into the New Territories. Lots of authentic local food. One area you can try is Tai Wai. It’s on the East Rail line. Dim sum in the morning at Tai Wai Dining room. Followed by soup noodles at Hao Tang Hao Miam, then pineapple bun and Hk milk tea at Red tea cafe. These places are very well known by the locals but not often featured in TH-cam videos.
Lots of love for Amy as always but videos with Derk are my fav - not being creepy lmao but it’s just so lovely to see you two interact. Fab video per usual. Can’t wait for the next one! ❤
Welcome to Hong Kong, Miss Amy, I didn't know you came to visit. Anyway, it is a magical time to visit Hong Kong Disneyland. I just recently went there with my cousins on a Sunday two weeks ago, and had a splashing time at Hong Kong Ocean Park Water World yesterday.
To be honest, there is much much room for improvement for Derk in videography. It's the first time feeling dizzy and nausea after watching a video in this channel. 😂
Love your vlog, I’ve have been looking forward to you doing a video about Hong Kong since following your channel! Would highly recommend you to look into the politics between Hong Kong and China, and the interesting status of Hong Kong as a special administrative region of China. I’m sure that you could tell the difference between Hong Kong and mainland China while travelling, it would be nice if you could take dig deeper and let your viewers learn more about how special Hong Kong is.
3:10 the burger place close by does pretty good burgers. 6:40 that Shanghai restaurant is delightful. I recommend their xiaolongbao, steamed guotie, and wonton soup. 6:46 see that big red sign in the windshield? That means the taxi is either heading to a customer that called for it, or it's waiting for customers who want to cross the harbour to Kowloon (you can summon them by placing a hand palm side down in front of you, then making a sort of diving gesture by dipping your hand down fingers first). Come back soon! I would be very happy to be your guide.
Wow to Derk’s 1st video! 🎉Most of the time I see your two big faces🤭 but the Disney scenery, probably he really wanted to show us closely how you two really look like and how you felt about your sweaty Disney adventure. 😅
If you go to HK Disneyland again, you should try Dim Sum at Disneyland Hotel. They have dim sum in many Disney characters, reservation needed. Also try Luk Kowk Hotel, one of the oldest hotel in HK, old style Cantonese cuisine. Derk is great in directing.
I'm from hk. you see that red thing on the Taxi's dash, that means they are not working. So it's not that you don't have enough charm. next time you want a Taxi, use your Uber app. But going to Disneyland, part of the experience is to ride the Disney line to Disneyland.
I loved this! I'm originally from Hong Kong so have been back many times but have never been to Disneyland. I'm going back to Hong Kong in November! I follow lots of Hong Kong-based TH-cam channels for food recs, though I think for the type of food content you typically make, your best bet would be to start with some iconic Hong Kong dishes like wonton noodles, HK-style cafés, etc and then look for recommendations from there.
Please note the solid yellow lines along side the roads, no vehicles are allowed to stop. Hence, you couldn't get a taxi. FYI, the Shanghai Disneyland is WAY better than the one in Hong Kong. I know because I have been to both.
Derk's directing style was refreshing. Reminds me of a dad who discovered technology for the first time 😭🤣
BAHAHAHAHA this made me laugh so hard
Like He's trying to stick that camera into her mouth but failed
hahaha ,The style of the straight man, the way he speaks and the angle of shooting are very daddy style, not bad
I was actually thinking how she's found someone just like her dad. 😆
Haha that’s me!

Aww this is so sweet to read!!! 💕💕💕
If I don't see Derk and Blondie's Dad do a food adventure together ALONE, I will start a petition!! #BoysTrip
I second this. #blondiesdad&Derkchineseadventure
Fantastic suggestion! Would love to see that :)
Cool idea
To be fully honest the video quality was worse BUT there was something incredibly endearing about seeing Derk trying his best to direct this video, as well as seeing the two of you together! All in all a fun video idea and I wouldn’t mind if you did this again in the future!

看完腦袋翁翁的😂😂😂
OMg i cannot keep my smile off my face throughout this episode!! Love your adventures Amy & Derk!!!
"You know, imagine, in case you die, you die at Disneyland." 😂😂😂😂😂 Derek is so chaotic! That came out of nowhere, and it was hilarious! That stoic german delivery too making it seem like you should be privileged to have your last moments in Disneyland lol !!!!

This is the funniest episode ever! Your relationship with Derk is hilarious.
found myself smiling the whole video! Derk is so funny and endearing
What a fun video! I was smiling the whole time watching it. I cracked up when Amy tried to recreate Derk’s style by shaking the camera 😂😂
Derk taking over! I love it! getting comfortable with the camera, good for him!
this is so wholesome! I love satisfying the inner child
This has got to be one of the funniest videos from Blondie. The number of expletives says it all 🤣
Derk is such a big kid and I am here for it! 🙏🏼
Derk makes a great vlog :D Good on you Amy for getting him onboard or giving him the opportunity to film and direct this himself :D
guys let's get this to 10K!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the video, was smiling the entire time :) really made my day as I'm sure with a lot of other people too.

love derk taking over the camera! bring new vibe to the video. Please do more!!
Derk is, simply, pure boss!
Oh you were in HK!! I wish I could have met you. A fan from HK here 😆
the 3.6.9. restaurant appeared at 6:40 is a good place. I went there with family since i was a kid. I have a Scotish friend went there twice in a roll when she visited HK
You two are a cute couple! Derk's first foray into travel vlogs was good and unique. Definitely captured his German sensibilities! 😄👍🏼Great content as always, Amy! 👋🏼😊
Actually Derek should have his own channel,I think it'll do very well because he has got the personality for it,once Amy improves his camera skills! 😂
Really enjoyed Derk's vlog😆 Have to encourage him to do more of these whenever he travels with you lol
Thank you, that's so cool! Have fun!
You two are so freaking adorable to watch. I love the Stitch hat on Derk, but I agree with you Amy; he needs ears too! 😍😂
Much more to explore in Disneyland HK!!!
Btw welcome to hk🎉
Fantastic video. I would give Derk 10,000 likes myself if I could! He was relaxed and funny.

Welcome to Hong Kong! Happy to see that Derk and you were getting so much fun in HK. Looking forward to 2nd video taking by Derk.
I havent laughed so hard for a long time! So great to see Derk personality shining through, chaotic energy and im here for it!
This was really fun. Derk is great! You guys are so great!
This was hilarious!!! I cried laughing at the second fan purchase!
Loved it. My vote is in for more Derk style vids 😄
Amy! The one cab you guys were trying to wave down was out of service, normally if they're available it shows a lit up circular thing at the front, in that case they had a sign on top of it
You two are so charming together, i always love seeing your adventures!
A perfect video; though unconventional. I thoroughly enjoyed it. You both looked so cute together. 🥰 Cheers from Southern Ontario 🇨🇦
Derk is all our boyfriend now haha!
This is a nice fun blip to the usual videos. Hope you know the best fans in the world are the ones watching this video right now! :D
Thanks for watching!!!
I would recommend the Hongkong style "street sweeping" food adventure. It's like, you go to Shumshuipo or Mongkok, and check out those small food outlets (possibly no seats) and small eateries. You want to try out those unhealthy food available, but they are yummy.
Welcome to HK ! Love watching your channel and cant wait to see what delicacy have you tried!
Watching you together and happy, sometimes makes me forget that you had to wait a couple of years or so to enjoy those momemts
This was a lot of fun! I love Amy's videos, but having Derk directing once in a while is a great way to switch it up.
This is awesome!!! Love this style of filming by Derk!😂😂😂😂😂😂 such a fun adventure!😄😆🤣
Derk is great fun! I'm watching this on the bus and laughed out loud several times.
Derk was hilarious 😂 😂 . Very good for the first time. Very natural. well done
"Du feinschmecker du"... hahaha always love Blondie's videos, took many of her suggestions of where to eat last time I was back in Sydney (sadly, Germany is sadly lacking in Asian food)... but this was quite refreshing. Gut gemacht Derk!
It was awesome seeing Amy not having control of the camera. You go Derk, and good job letting go Amy!
It was a fun video ! Derk really got into the Disney spirit. You both definitely need to go back when the weather is cooler so you can enjoy more rides.
This was so entertaining! Loved the whole video. Laughed the whole time
It is so lovely to see you both in the video. You are really made a good couple. Hope to see more of your travel blog videos.
loved Derk’s humour and filming - this had me laughing so much and it was really refreshing to see :D can’t wait for another Derk takeover!

It was appreciated Derk, with couples the videos are always good when you are together, and hey there was a little food adventure in there as well ;)
Welcome to HK, I would suggest you to try the Oi Man Sang in ShamShuiPo, it's a kind of hawker restaurant along the street. If you need more info you can reach me. Cheers!

Love Disneyland! Been there thrice- first time in 2006 when it opened 😍 looking forward to going to HK again in March
This adventure was amazing!
Love you, guys.
I really liked this vlog style of filming! Definitely would like to see more videos like this
Derk good job!!👍🏼Amy your hat is so cuteee, love it. Only went on one ride😔 maybe in the winter time is better, definitely not as hot.
That was a fun video, and I'd love to see Derek do some more.
love the chaotic energy from derk! more please!
To be honest, there is much much room for improvement for Derk in videography. It's the first time feeling dizzy and nausea after watching a video in this channel. 😂

This video had me laughing along with you guys. So glad you had fun!
I love director, Derk!! Loved this video.

Enjoyed the vlog! Please let Derk do another one once a while.. I was laughing hard, both of you are very cute!😂😂
Wow to Derk’s 1st video! 🎉Most of the time I see your two big faces🤭 but the Disney scenery, probably he really wanted to show us closely how you two really look like and how you felt about your sweaty Disney adventure. 😅
Loved the Derk directed video. Derk should lead a food adventure of his fave spots to eat.
Well done Derk for directing this video!! LOL... I enjoyed this video 😄😄
I enjoyed this video. The energy was playful and hilarious. Good werk, Derk!

Amy u are an absolute star and your videos never never fail to brighten my day
Reminds me of my trip to HK and HK Disneyland way back in 2018. Derk is hilarious 😆
Welcome to Hong Kong, great to have you here in my home town
Derk is the best!!! Keep it up!!!!
Ahhh what a fun video...funny like dad style ! But so flippen cute !
Please note the solid yellow lines along side the roads, no vehicles are allowed to stop. Hence, you couldn't get a taxi. FYI, the Shanghai Disneyland is WAY better than the one in Hong Kong. I know because I have been to both.
I grew up at The Grand Hyatt residences in HK.. so nice to see it again
Easily the best video you have produced!!
It was refreshingly entertaining, would like to see more of this
I like Derk's commentary it's refreshing 😊
