- Due to circumstances beyond our control and with only 4 days notice, Wigan Pier would open its doors for one final event.
The date was 15th of December 2011 a week before Christmas and a Thursday night. Needless to say we didn't expect a full house
We couldn't have been more wrong, within an hour of opening we was locked out, 1200 dedicated Wigan Pier clubbers inside with a further 300 waiting to get in, making this the busiest night the club has ever seen!
A major part of Wigan history ended on this night
The club maybe gone but the atmosphere & memories live on

this place will alwayz be rememberd be daft never to reopen else wer so hurry up and find a new venue :D
Sad to say but the music died and the closing of the pier was what revived it, i think i have about ever maximes and wigna pieir cd since about 2006 ad as im now 16 im gutted i never got to go to such an amazing place like this! Rip wigan pier
ONE WORD SID ! ive spent some of best nights ever at that place working for nearly 7 years and since he took over ive seen it run into the ground with no advertising,speacial acts,cleaning and even BEER !
The last night was good (Working on the bar wasn't that good tbh, with running out of everything and having some people who were that off their face they couldnt speak). But it did raise the question.... People only went because it was the end of an era for the pier, but where did they go? For MONTHS maybe even years the pier had been dying a slow and painful death, often closing early or having to close the upstairs part because there was just no customers. What went wrong?

I agree with most but the place couldn't pull its numbers after time it just phased with the introduction of bar venues playing dance I remember a time when you could have a rave at pier but if you went to a bar up town you would be listening Tina turner. RIP never be again Pier the best.
