It is a theory in our Maratha history Books that Goddess Jagdamba gave a sword to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj after her insult, which was done by Afzalkhan by Destroying the Main temple of Goddess Jagdamba in Tuljapur.The Sword was named after her 'Jagdamba Talwar' .This Jagdamba Talwar is currently present in London Historic Mueseum.
Thus the Scene from the film that Goddess gave a sword or gave all her powers to Raje in the form of a sword is not fictional.It was believed at that time ,such incident has took place.We can find references of this event in lots of history books.

At that time The real murti of aai bhavani was kept aside by the local pujaris before afzal khan entered tuljapjur.
Since he Got Talwar from his Father Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj use to Place his Sword in Front of Maa Bhavani Mandir n use to do Pujan daily and then this Scene Happened..
When Maa Bhavani came in Shivaji Maharaj Dream n gave him Divya Drishti and said Hey Shivba get up what are u sleeping .. get up .. why ur men's are scared .. That Rakshas Khan destroyed my Murti but can't destroy my POWER.. Me n my POWER both are there with u inside ur Sword .. Pick ur Sword n Kill all of them .. I will Protect u ...
Actually this Scene has a Historical proof Maharaj himself had claimed it .. I saw a Brightest light n Big Eyes in dream coming near mee and Bhavani taking his Huge avtaar in front of Mee..
