I just watched an Andy speedrun and I’m fascinated by how different his relationship with chat is than Oats’
The greated downside watching on TH-cam is that you already know nearly the completion time at the start, so there are no real surprises.
The second one is hearing Oats eating crunchy food and you remember, how nice a pack of potatoe chips having right now is, knowing not having anything like that at home.
You weren't surprised that he got first place with a time of 1:19?

And no. I only think, that you often know, hi isn't first. 1:45:00 mean, hi isn't first in general. An seeing a time like under 45 min, you already could guess he is first.

I'm always a little amused that more people in his chat don't recognize that this "Justin Baileyesque" sprite is really more of a "Samus cosplaying as Mai Shiranui" sprite.
I'm still subconsciously associating that sprite with hell runs
Lot of people dont seem to realise that this sprite is from a "Justin Bailey" romhack, one of the early SM romhacks ever made, from the early 00's.
I watched Desyreqt's GDQ run of that hack over a decade ago. Man how time flies.
Best thing is, Oats going left first everytime and in like every video he has to go right first. XD
There was a few gambles that paid off like getting grapple even after having space jump just to get through pants room (as Oats predicted it MIGHT help... at the time seemed unlikely to me). Going to Brinstar instead of Tourian first saved a lot of time. And skipping that one major past the key hunters after getting varia saved time but could've been speed which was mandatory to beat Ridley.
Oats has finally cracked and gone insane.
35:40 Its interesting that the lava still deals extra damage when you have gravity, given that that is supposed to protect against lava damage.
It is part of the randomizer that is "fixed" otherwise it would be pointless to need varia if you get gravity first. What it does is a minor damage decrease.
@@SmilingKratosTheGodOfWar It wouldn't be pointless, as you'd still take damage from being in a heated room in the first place. I just find it odd that the lava still does EXTRA damage on top of the heat damage, despite having Gravity.
@@zarnox3071 I am just letting you know what Oats said in one of his streams. It would make sense that the gravity suit just gives you additional movement speed in liquid.
He'd get 2 goats, then name them Eddie n Albert.

The knowledge about Grapple beam is a spoiler, cause you know a other Player grabbed it before, which could lead to the assumption, that you already are behind someone.

I saw in a previous comment you said you were German, so I just wanted to let you know S.o. and so have different meanings.
It's obvious what you mean in this comment, but S.o. is an abbreviation for Significant other which is another term for a person you're in a relationship with because we have way too many words for things. It's not going to cause you many problems, but knowing the Internet, there's gonna be that one comment that gets taken way too far out of context

They added it a while back due to popular demand (and because it's cool)
Yeah, it didn't initially, but it's been a thing for a while now, which I appreciate, as while I like the original SM Samus sprites, having some options to change it up is also very nice
