18:18 And this is why I ignored that V12 Celica from 5 days ago and RAPIDLY clicked on this. It's all well and good having something slammed with massive arches and some OTT engine swap, but Stephen Papadakis did the arguably more difficult thing and _respected the spirit of the car._ The moment I laid eyes on those Mikunis I knew this dude had built a winner. This isn't that wild a car, but it's a proper Celica. I guess I'd expect nothing less from this guy.
It's hilarious seeing him talk about the celica like a "noob". So much experience in motorsports, but you can tell this is all new and exciting to him. Funny and refreshing that someone so experienced can be so inexperienced at the same time. Love it
I learned to drive manual on my mom's 1977 Celica. That car was a hoot to drive but scary AF in the rain. I love all these old Toyota builds that have been popping up on TH-cam this last year
TH-cam channel Sarah-N-Tuned is doing a great job building one of these, in a "resto-mod" style - but with a Toyota v8 and supporting mods. Hers will be pretty awesome as well. The whole build is being documented on her channel.
Cool to see Steph do this Celica and where he’s gone. Remember him back in the day when he was at JG engine dynamics and not knowing much about cars or Hondas to now he’s an icon.
In 1976, Motor Trend's Import Car of the Year was the Toyota Celica hatchback. Selling Toyota's in Bloomington, the boss son's '72 Celica was mine to drive for a time. Having experienced both cars, the '72 was a real road-hugger, though a four-speed compared to a larger eng. w a five-speed, the older Celica with front/ rear spoilers won performance-wise. Great Restoration!
My auntie basically gave my sister a 76 Ta22 that she had owned since new, that then never got used. Just sat there, I had my chance to turn it into a project ( this was about 15years ago or so) and I flaked. I’ve regretted it for a long time, especially after seeing this fine example. 😮😂🎉❤
Old skool celica guys knows Andy Vang.... 1st celica s2k swap . Anyone who isnt familiar, Google him and his car, its a Red colored, and was featured in the mazagine.
Not that it's a competition but I think Sarah N' Tuned's will be this nice to potentially nicer. Her attention to detail is second to none. A legendarily reliable Toyota V8 that easily makes more than enough horsepower for a little Celica can be nothing but a recipe for success.
I own a 78 Celica before, and their front end is so flimsy. I really want to know how they beef up the front end to get the car to handle well. Any chance to show the bottom of the car?
Steph is such an awesome human being.
Larry @2.13, "excuse me while I get some B roll ASS!!!!"

So lame and boring? Because you have zero imagination and this pathetic representation is all you tools can imagine?
I love how the color shines on that thing at 2:10
stop lying you looking at booty!
Agreed 😂😂😂
Not having that car is making me super Jelica
You almost had the perfect joke and it’s Supra annoying
@kevinyech984 I’ll admit, your comment wins the gold, while mine takes Silverado
What would be third place then, Bronco or Cupra?
@Random_banshee Third would be the mini copper

So personally I think this is one of the most beautiful cars toyota ever built.
I'm starting to see a lot of the older JDM stuff, and it makes me smile.
It really is the year of the Celica!
I watched the build of this. Love it!
I always like this Celica model.
One of my favorite cars at SEMA. I was poring over the details and amazed how he was able to get so many goodies . Absolute masterpiece!
2.10 mark. Thanks Larry!!
shesssh!!!! baddie right there
Beautiful. Also that man was my hero in the late 90's. Freaking legend
That wheels badge between the hardware is sick - will for sure replicate that on my wheels
If Papadakis married one chassis, I think he could do something very similar to Singer. His mindset sets him apart from the majority.
Great build, fantastic color, but the booty shots around 2:17 are my favorite part. haha

Fantastic build. I wish there were more liftback celica.
Took photos of the car at SEMA, so beautiful in person!
Looking forward to the new Celica.... hopefully it will have the spirit of these
Just wonderful! Start to finish!

That paint is immaculate

7:04 good work guys
Amazing car!
Love the build 😍
This colour was a superb choice.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I am opening bias in saying this but I love all of the Celica content. Thank you for showing so many in detail
84 Celica Gt-s coupe is my favorite Celica 💯
I put 296K miles on my 1974 Celica ST. I sold it in 1980 for $85 less than I paid for it.
Yeah.. wow.. it is like the year of the Celica..

Thank you for your creativity and effort. Your videos are always a joy.🕋🌚🚥
There is nothing better than a strong Toyota build!!
Eric Comia's old Celica.... Glad it's in good hands 🙌
Sweet ride!
Your videos are always so vivid and heartfelt. Thank you for your creativity and ability to capture the attention of your viewers!😮😹🤣
Automotive perfection, Legend
This is the best, love it
manI miss stephen's video... They're top tier
LOVE these old Celicas :D
So damn cool!
Thanks for better view Larry. @7:05 😂

LARRY *SO CLEANNNNNNNN*
The internet needs more Stephan Papadakis, like lots and lots more….
Nice Larry 👀 ❤
I had a loaded 74 GT 5 speed in the 80s during highschool - fun car.
Nice cheeky video
123 Ignition would have been much much easier.
But; coil on plug is the best!
Bad ass build
The Philippines has a lot of oldschool Toyota’s (Celica/Sprinter/Corolla/Cressida/Starlet). Boo!!! 👻👻👻🧋🧋🧋
2:14 your welcome
Is the chin on all these 70s jdms really the golf chin? I've been hunting one
This is how I need to be edited down to make life better for people in real life😂😂
How many videos did Larry film at sema goddamn!
That’s a name I haven’t heard since the mid to late 90’s (battle of the imports days)
2:17 😏
I own a 78 Celica before, and their front end is so flimsy. I really want to know how they beef up the front end to get the car to handle well. Any chance to show the bottom of the car?
Well guess I need to get going on my 81 Celica before everyone else hops on that generation.
I guess the Celica trend is because Toyota is planning on reviving it? 🤔👀
😍😍😍😍😍
I wish I could give every non-turbo car video two likes.
I had a beautiful green ta22 in 2015 it got stolen 😮
Weird, I see “best” and “Celica” in the same sentence and don’t hear the name “Connie Celica” mentioned anywhere. The math isn’t mathing Larry
Ok ok…so SEMA 2024 is the new way to determine what will be the 0:24 most UNAFFORDABLE car for enthusiasts. Great! Thanks 💰 baggers😂
we r greek
$20k in suspension lol
Fourth 👌🏾
🍑😳
I really appreciate your commitment to excellence! Your videos are always so high quality and interesting.⛴🍂🔺
