Sir, my junior Bidisha is your huge fan along with me....but unfortunately we couldn't attend your last concert in Kolkata...please sir do come to Kolkata soon....we are eagerly waiting for your performance....
A magnificent rendition, Sir! The tonal quality of the recording is one of the very finest I’ve heard for this majestic instrument. The music is transcendental. God-bless
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recording, giving us an insight and connection to the majesty of Dhrupad Music and the Dagarvani tradition within its field. Give thanks for your dedication to the artform and your generosity of spirit in recording this piece and sharing it. ( A low pass filter at 90Hz would take off any inadvertent "rumble" from the recording ) May I ask, do you have a Tanpura accompaniment.. or is it a "Telephone Tanpura"? I believe there is an Ocean of difference between the two in terms of the ability of both the performer and the rasika to achieve a state of Union with Naad. From my personal experience, there are only 2 Performers in the whole of India who will not perform without Tanpura, both of them are Dagars! My sincere and humble request, please do perform with Tanpura, as used by the Guru, and the Guru's Guru. Shanti Aum
Thank you Ustad. It's such a pleasure to hear Veena recordings with good sound quality.. Is this your father's Veena or is it a replica ? Until we meet again, Heikel
Dear Sir, Would you please shed some light on Noor Sarang. You said that it is peculiar to Dagar Gharana. Is the Raag conceived by any musician belonging to Dagar Tradition? Would be grateful if you could guide me accordingly.
No this raag is not conceived by the family. In the olden days some ragas we particularly played by certain gharanas. As a mark of respect and professional courtesy the other gharanas would not play them. Every family had a list of them. Like the jaipur gharana had the what they call anvat ragas list.
@@ancientindianstrings Thank you for the note. A small question again sir, that means the student is introduced to the Ragas generally played by other Gharanas but is never publicly recited by him/her?
