If it is a haldex style awd im pretty sure it's toasted. As far as I understand the awd system is a hydraulic pump between driveshaft and the rear diff. The body of this pump is driveshaft and the input shaft of this pump is rigidly connected to the diff. There is no techical possibility to disconnect this pump. It hydralically engages the clutches when there is an difference in angular momentum between rear diff and driveshaft (unless there is an electrical solenoid). So when you tow the car like this there will be tremendous force generated on those slipper clutches, because the rear diff is rolling and the driveshaft stays still. This pump will be rolling like crazy, because it is desighned to engage at smt. like 2mph difference between front and rear axle.

Hit me back and we can discuss all the ways banks and other financial institutions have screwed its customers and got nothing but a slap on the wrist and still made money even after getting fined.
A few years ago I got home from work and there was a report guy at the end of our driveway. He asked me if my car was a Mazda 3, to which I said yes. He thought it was a blue one, mine was black. He asked me if so and so lived there I told him no the house was in my mother’s name and no one by that name had ever lived there and he obviously had the wrong street and address. He left real quick. Also, this would be considered trespassing. There was a case from Ontario and a repo company gained access to a gated community. They removed a car from there and thought they were home free. The vehicle owner sued not just the towing company but also the gated community property owners for damages to the lawn, trespassing, theft and a few other things. The court found in favour of him and the repo company went out of business with the total fines being more than what the company was worth and the community property owners had to sell the company to cover their losses.
First, there are different laws everywhere. So what’s legal or illegal in one place can easily be different somewhere else. Second, for most places, repo people can go on property to get vehicles as long as it is accessible without having to open a gate or garage door or anything similar. So even if it’s in someone’s back yard, they can go back there to get it as long as it’s accessible without having to open something. Depending on how that repo guy got into the gated community is what determines whether it was legal or not. But again, different laws in different areas of the world and even within a country

@thomasdemore7972 yup. Gotta think about about how much of a headache it actually is for a bank to repossess a car, get a new CR written on it then try and re sell it for a lesser value than what they sold it to you for. Usually you can miss a solid 3 months before you have to seriously start thinking about a repo man showing up.
I'd say you can get away with not paying your car payment for a good 5 months without repossession as long as u stay in touch with your bank at least somewhat.
@StephRenee812 It's their CHOSEN JOB and it's shameful.... Bad things happen to good people and really what would it hurt for these financial institutions to work with people? How is taking that vehicle going to get that company paid when they sell it for less than half it's value and then expect the person to pay the difference when they don't have a vehicle to even go to work.??? These guy's are scum with no morals...
@wlonsdale1 Most people do try to deal with the bank or finance company and as long as the loan value exceeds the car value they will sometimes work with you ,but if the value of the car is higher than the loan amount owed and your behind they will not work with you and will send the repo guys after you. It will be a double win for them... Repo the vehicle, sell the vehicle for whatever they can get and send you a bill for the difference... Stop defending financial institutions....

In Texas, a repo man can legally enter your yard, driveway, or other private property if there's nothing blocking their access. However, they can't enter your house without permission or use force. This pump will be rolling like crazy, because it is desighned to engage at smt. like 2mph difference between front and rear axle.
its a nissan though, the whole car is already toasted
