The fact that you don't wrap up the video as soon as the episode ends, and you follow it up with thoughtful commentary, proves you have the best format for reaaction videos on the internet. Thanks!

Love how they use the Erryk/Arryk and then Blackwood/Bracken fights as scaling up the microcosm of the feuds and war about to begin; fights between kin and fights with long lasting bad blood looking for an excuse to fight. Lots of circular imagery as well to represent the cycle of violence. A really strong episode visually and the acting as always is glorious, also really loved the music in this episode.

I loved the scale of the imagery too. A matryoshka doll of the same theme throughout the series. Especially the mentions of the Blackwoods/Bracken feud that at this point nobody knows what it was about - extrapolating that towards the Dance of the Dragons where nobody is going to remember what they started fighting ABOUT other than the obvious. It's the point of no return, the avalanche over the climax where after you've passed it, you can't remember exactly the last few things that brought you to it were, and after that, everything is just instinct and emotion.

    1. There were only 3 Aegons at this point. Viserys never spoke to Alicent about the SOIAF so she wouldn't get the reference and know that he was talking about Aegon I aka Aegon the Conqueror and not their son, Aegon II. Additionally, the ITE for that episode explains that Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenrya who WOULD have gotten the reference.
    2. There are a LOT of Targaryen bastards running around. Most people remember kings at the time of their death; as old men but they were once young, virile princes who sampled many fair maidens and women who were not fair.

While I applaud the final scene, I still feel like there was a missed opportunity- Rhaenyra knew of the the Valyrian steel dagger that Aegon possesses that has writing on it. I wish that she said “it’s a prophecy SEEN BY Aegon The Conquerer” and tells her of the dagger and she spits out the inscription in High Valyrian.
Alicent asks what she said, Rhaenyra scoffs and says “over 20 years in our house and yet you never learned Valyrian.”
    * The rest of the exchange stays the same.
Next episode, in a fit of rage, Aegon stabs the dagger in the Counsel Table, leaving it. Alicent sees it and takes it to a Maester. When she asks what it says, the Maester replies “it says ‘The Prince That Was Promised Shall Bring The Dawn’”.
Alicent is relieved because it means she was right to usurp the throne for Aegon, a “Prince”. “Thank you, Maester.” An older Maester overhears and interrupts them- he looks at the blade, and admonishes the younger Maester for giving a false translation and his lack of understanding of the language.
The older Maester says “Forgive me, Your Grace, but my colleague has made a slight error. You see, Valyrian has different grammatical rules than the Common Tongue does- the word he translated as “Prince” has no gender in High Valyrian, so the correct translation is “The Prince or Princess, or The Heir That Was Promised…”
Alicent hears the true translation and is even more conflicted with the choices and mistakes she has made causing the war.

I think Episode 3 was mostly mid or slightly above mid and I don’t buy Rhaenyra risking her life just to have a chat with Alicent. Alicent could’ve easily screamed and cried for help for her guards after she left regardless if Rhaenyra was holding a knife. I’m not sure that part was ever in the book. An added scene made for TV to have Emma and Olivia interact again. I did like the confusion of Aegon the Conqueror finally being solved.
The parts I did like from the episode -
    - Rhaenyra and Mysaria bonding more. Mysaria is an important ally to Rhaenyra in this entire story.
    - Introduction to Ulf the White. He’s likable now similar to Hugh Hammer. Let’s just say I will compare Ulf to what Paul George recently did to my LA Clippers. 💰 That is all.
    - Introduction to Alys Rivers. When Alys said to Daemon that he will die here in Harrenhal, remember that the God’s Eye lake is next to that castle.
    - Dream sequence brought back Milly Alcock for a surprise cameo and humanizes Daemon giving him a guilt trip over Jaehaerys’ death.
    - Stunning scenery as usual. Love seeing the scene of Baela on Moondancer and seeing a forest in broad daylight. HOT D looks like an expensive TV series while the $180M The Acolyte does not.
I’ve been desensitized from The Boys for showing tons of male genitalia, so when I saw Ewan Mitchell show his cock, I wasn’t that shocked. It may not be his real penis showing either. That could be prosthetics or he’s patched or wearing a thong and the penis was CGI added. Rob Benedict who portrayed Splinter in The Boys S4 wore prosthetics penis and ass.
I was actually more shocked with Ewan’s torso. He’s ripped! Ewan is 27 but he has a ripped torso and isn’t Aemond supposed to be only around 16-17? But then it’s weird because Ewan still has skinny arms. Tiny biceps. He’s not like Manny Jacinto who actually has always been ripped even before he became Jason Mendoza in The Good Place and way before Darth Biceps.
If you want to see more male genitalia…
Wild Things (Kevin showed his bacon)
    Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Zack and Miri Make a Porno
    Most Sacha Baron Cohen comedies
    Pam & Tommy
    The Boys
    Gen V
Aemond showing his penis was hardly shocking if you watch The Boys. And again, it could be CGI or prosthetics. Aegon went back being a douchebag again bullying his younger brother.
The whorehouse scene with a woman sucking a guy’s huge cock seemed unnecessary. It’s obviously prosthetics because HBO can’t show porn. They couldn’t when they aired Real Sex and Cathouse: The Series.
I was actually concerned if Daemon was going to hook up with Alys Rivers. I was like, “Don’t trust that b*tch!” She’s like a witch. She’s future paramour to the full monty himself in this episode. The less interactions with Alys, the safer Daemon would be. Don’t trust these witch b*tches! Most I’ve ever seen Daemon look paranoid and afraid.
We got to see more of Rhaena at least. She had more speaking lines. But then she ends up being a babysitter to Rhaenyra’s kids since she has no dragon. Criston Cole with that stupid haircut and being a douche to Alicent’s brother who called Criston the “knight of comfort.”
Fabien Frankel might be one of the most handsome actors to ever portray such a hated character. I think he’s more handsome than Matt Smith and Ewan Mitchell but Daemon and Aemond are the Final Fantasy characters. Similar to Qimir/Smilo Ren, they can sell merch.
I just thought the last part between Rhaenyra hiding in disguise as some nun to speak with Alicent didn’t feel realistic to me. Why risk her life for it? Why not write letters and have ravens drop them off? Rhaenyra is the most important character to Team Black and she’s willing to risk her life to have a 3-minute chat with Alicent?
The reason it doesn’t make any sense to me is because there was already an assassination attempt on Rhaenyra after Lucerys was killed. Shouldn’t that be a point of no return? And Criston Cole looks like he wants war already when heading to the Riverlands. Why should Rhaenyra back down and risk her life by disguising herself only to speak to Alicent?
    Episode 3: B-
Episode 3 felt like a filler episode before the next big one which will be Episode 4. Ep. 2 was the strongest one so far thanks to the strong acting from Tom, Rhys, and Emma. The next episode is going to be crazy: Battle at Rook’s Rest. If you know the outcome, I give my best to Eve. 😭

    • @GiveonKing
      @GiveonKing 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

Alicent didn’t want to because she loves rhaenyra even though it’s been clouded by their beef of decades long plus she knows she screwed up so the least she can do is let rhaenyra escape. It’s very in character. The interaction is very fan service I agree but it’s done tastefully

Oh, I disagree. This was my favorite out of the three and that scene between Alicent and Rhaenyra was intense as fuck. Pretty much every scene Rhaenyra has been in this season has been that way. Emma's acting is just not of this earth.

@@bigjavo36 This is a rumor, and based on the book lore. In the lore of the show, confirmed by the director of this episode, three of the eggs Rhaenyra sends away with Rhaena become Dany's dragons. The other one is either sold for the war or becomes Rhaena's dragon.

    • @shestewa6581
      @shestewa6581 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

The thing is that it's heavily implied that the 3 eggs that Daenerys receives are from Dreamfyre. You can see this in the fact that Dreamfyre looks almost identical to Dragon, Viserion and Rhaegal but just coloured differently. They also went missing a generation before this - 3 of them were sold to Essos by a character and it was a whole thing. Rationally, those 3 SHOULD be Daenerys' eggs.
I'm not against 3 of these 4 eggs being those eggs, per sé as it's never quite confirmed, but I have a major gripe in that the dragons look NOTHING like Syrax, even when combined with Caraxes. It's ludicrous when you have a dragon right there, and another in Seasmoke (who is issue of Dreamfyre) who look identical to Daenerys' dragons.
I can only hope that these eggs were from Seasmoke and Dreamfyre or Seasmoke and another dragon, and aren't from Syrax at all.

What Daemon saw in Harrenhall was his demons.
In the vision he sees the slain prince as he did not mean for the child to be killed. And young lonely Rhaenyra wearing the necklace he gave her as she wore when he would flee the court and left her alone ... he knows leaving Rhaenyra the way he did was irresponsible and selfish. Daemon isn’t a monster, he loves his family. . . People forget the tiny prince was also his family ... and an innocent. Daemon does not wish to spill the blood of anyone but his enemies.
So glad you liked the episode!

    • @Wolf6119

No, he wasn’t. That was Willem Blackwood in Season 1. We don’t yet know how he’s related to the Lord Samwell Blackwood who died at the Burning Mill, nor do we know how either of them are related to Davos Blackwood, who appears in this episode.
We have a clearer idea of the family tree on the Bracken side though. Aeron Bracken, who died in this episode, is the nephew of Amos Bracken, who is the current Lord and younger brother of Jerrel Bracken - the one who got killed by Willem Blackwood in Season 1.
