Recipes
Saddy Lynn’s Grilled Carne Asada
• 1 tbsp steak seasoning
• ½ tbsp garlic powder
• ½ tbsp oregano powder
• ½ tbsp onion powder
• 1 tbsp minced garlic
• 1 cup avocado oil
• 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (ACV)
• 1 tbsp lime juice
• 1 tbsp Himalayan salt
Blend together ingredients, reserve 1/3 cup of marinade for cactus, and spread 2/3 cup of marinade on meat, let meat marinade for 15 minutes. Cook on bbq grill, let rest, then serve.
Grilled Cactus (Nopales)
• 2 large cacti
• Carne asada marinade
• Avocado oil - for grill
Brush both sides of cactus with Carne Asada marinade, cook on bbq grill, then serve.
Saddy Lynn’s Cactus Salad
• 3 large cacti - chopped and sauteed in pan with Carne Asada marinade ( 1/3 cup reserved earlier)
• 4 tbsp tomatoes
• 2 tbsp red onion
• 2 tbsp cucumber
• 2 handfuls cilantro
• 2 tbsp lime juice
• ½ tbsp Himalayan salt
Put ingredients in large bowl, mix, and serve.
Saddy Lynn’s Cream & Guava Pastry
• Puff pastry sheet (2 sheets)
• Guava paste (solid)
• Cream cheese
• 1 egg wash - to seal it and on top of pastry
Set oven at 400 degrees, bake for 17-20 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool and serve.
