When in a group with people I don’t know so well, it’s comforting to have a friend who’s looking out for me. That seems to be the case with these two, they often seem relieved and happy when they see each other and stay physically close to one another. I think that some of the “jealous moments” are really just “it would’ve been nice if us two friends were partnered, especially in a game where we’ll be touched, because then we both will have a good time and be more relaxed”. I think they also like each other’s company because they can make the show better. For example in the first clip when Yuqi hits Lucas with the toy, she does it much harder than the others because they both understand she isn’t trying to disrespect or hurt him. If someone else did it, it might have made him uncomfortable, and his reaction would’ve made the viewer and other cast members uncomfortable too. Instead he finds it funny and so the viewer and cast members laugh. It’s the same when they’re in a car together or partnered in a game because have better teamwork (or alternately butt heads and lightheartedly argue) which the viewers and other cast members like.
Lucas has a younger brother but no sisters. Similarly Yuqi is an only child so she’s never had a brother. So I’m glad they’ve been able to find someone who fills that role they’ve been missing, especially because they’re in a foreign country away from their families.
I miss them 😭 Lucas will not be keep running MC in next season. That hurts me a lot. Lucas indeed is the best boy and he is so natural. Why people hate him? I can't understand at all 😭
