I know Eric and his beautiful and talented wife the singer Amy Rigby.
They used to live near me in SW France. They're now in NY state.
Eric's recovering from a heart attack.

One of the best rockers to come out of the 70s. Just superb. Proper pub rock.

Is he the best 'cause only we know? Or is he the best 'cause everyone else is missing out?

Anyone know the line-up for this? Davey Payne on sax definitely, but is it the original band with Ian Dury on drums and his girlfriend Denise Roudette on bass? Certainly sounds like it.

He came down here to New Zealand a few years ago, Eric, two guitars - acoustic and electric - and a suitcase full of pedals. Eric and he himself (no-one else) blew the roof off that night!

In my humble opinion, Wreckless Eric is way above Ian Dury and the Blockheads, although they sometimes played together.

Why compare them? They're both legends and originals - each to their own.

I saw them both together with the ramones and I think blondie and other luminaries stiff tour 1980/ He was the tightest, Ian Dury was also tough and a pro, ramones got carried out on stretchers.
