Headhunterz - Last of the Mohicanz
“As we walk through the valley in the shadow of death, thy shall fear no evil. Headhunterz are back.”
As an artist, you’re constantly trying to reinvent yourself. Trying to come up with something new. Something everlasting. The key to that, is inspiration. In 2006, ‘The Sacrifice’ was made, with movie classic ‘The Boondock Saints’ in mind. In 2008, Willem found a brilliant melody in another classic: ‘The Last of the Mohicans’ (1992). In a matter of hours, the main theme of a movie was transformed into one of the most memorable Headhunterz originals ever made.
As Willem was preparing for the Qlimax 2008 show, he knew he wanted to create something special. Something with an extraordinary melody, one that would stick in everyone’s minds. He found it in the movie’s main theme, taken from ‘The Gael’ by Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean. A powerful melody that he transformed into an epic hardstyle tune. That, dear people, is how inspiration works.
