@bbsteviebb I see Joan Jett was still struggling with reality still trying to say she wrote the song, even aftey showed the Arrows clip and the songwriters Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker were identified on the screen ! LOL.
@vivicola It seems Ms. Jett seemed disoriented in the interview and also confused about what constitutes the difference between "songwriting" and "arranging" a song. Her 1981 arrangement and interpretation was excellent, but she wrote nothing of this song. The Arrows 1975 version was the songwriting part, 100%.
I love Alan Merrill with all my heart :) What an amazing talent
I love this version. Shows the true historic roots of this song. Just artists plying their talents to the world and having fun.
The band's ageless lead singer is still performing this live with his band. He played it New Years Eve in New York City 2017
Alan Merrill performed this song in London in November 2011 at The Lexington and it was great! It's on youtube.
complety awesome
The bluesiest version of the song right here.
Glamrock version! Love it!!
Glad this funky version was posted! Luvya!- Nena XX
Amazing Arrows. Love this!!!
In fact Arrows drummer the late Paul Varley was the acting coach for Chris Guest when preparing for the role of Nigel Tufnel, so you're very astute.
A bit of this was just shown (July16, '11) on BBC2 on the secrets behind rock anthems.

I love Alan's red espadrilles!
Yo tambien amo el rock
Best !!!!
Right, there are also lots of youtube versions of the band's "First Hit" and "Dont Worry Bout Love" that sound extremely different.
First time i thought the Joan Jett cover was far better, now i think the original is dope too

@bbsteviebb Yes it was. The Arrows were great but the TV host was a jerk.
So Nigel Tufnel had a brief stint on drums, how about that.
