So was my husband. But, I also remember these catalogues. I’m just hoping there’s a She-Ra or He-Man figurine set in this. I remember JCPENNY catalogues that were like this! Oh man, to go back and look through those things again. :)
OMG!! The memories!! My mom used to have me and my brother go through and circle what we wanted for Christmas with a pen. 😄 Thanks for sharing and awesome find! I would LOVE to see a pointer/whisper/soft spoken video. :)
I was 10 in 1985. I remember writing my Christmas list using the Sears Wishbook and the Montgomery Ward catalog. The larger regular Sears catalog was what I had to sit on when I needed a booster seat at my grandma's dining room table LOL
Ok I couldn't click on this fast enough. I remember getting them from sears pennys and wards.this is like a good tv show. I can't wait untill the next one. Especially the toys
The quality of audio actually really fits this video, the sound combined to the catalogue makes me feel nostalgic even though I’m not familiar with Wish books :D
I grew up as a child of the 70s. I remember this Wish Book and couldn’t wait for each one to come out! We would circle what we wished for and also things I dreamed of for my Barbies! Thank you for bringing this back because I was just looking at these the other day as a matter of fact after you mentioned them in another video. ❤️✨
This brings back so many memories of the 90s because my grandma used to order clothes and things from catalogs for me. She passed away last March and I can't wait to watch all of these that you do ❤️ I just ordered a 1992 (the year I was born) wish book from eBay to look through it with my 4 year old.
I used to circle everything I wanted in the argos book! The main thing I always wanted was a black pyramid that had makeup in it and in the very top was a lipstick!! But never got one!
My father was in the Army and we spent most of our tours in Europe. I lived for the Sears wish book! I'm talking the 70's. We would also circle things that we'd like. We didn't have much money but it was fun to look at all the things and hope to get any one of the things we wanted. We got some clothes mostly...not much, but it was so much fun to go through the book and wish. We did that every yearm
Great video to relax and go to Sleep with!! This book brings back so many memories!! I was born in 1956 so I checked them out many years..., Thank you Mary for doing a series on this.... love ya hon.. 🤗❤️
I was super young in the late 70’s, but I do remember that when you would order something from the Sears catalog, that the store would call you when the item came in and if it was small enough like clothes, etc., then it would be put in a cubby and wrapped in brown paper for you to grab. I always loved the ASMR-like tingles that I would get from that paper. 😍📜 I can’t remember if that continued until 1985, but this was so cool to see the Wishbook. Thanks, Mary!
Ah 1985...2 years before I was born! That ruffled white shirt reminds me of the Seinfeld episode about the pirate shirt Jerry is forced to wear on the Today show interview.
Yay! I was hoping for a video from you and here it is, just in time. I was born in '85 so I'm super here for this, lol. Fun fact about the microwave, my grandparents still have a woodgrain White Westinghouse microwave they got when I was 3 and it still works.
I started my first real job a few years before that, and remember buying a new TV and VCR. They each cost about a week's gross pay (not take-home) but the VCR was a miracle machine.
*FOR THOSE WHO ARE READING THIS, CHEER UP! ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT YOU’RE FACING RIGHT NOW WILL END SOON. DON’T LOSE HOPE. KEEP FIGHTING!* 💪🏼 *AND NOW ENJOY WATCHING OUR AMAZING ASMRTIST.* *I WISH MY ASMR VIDEOS WERE THIS RELAXING TO.*
Oh that typewriter! My dad used to have similar one (not the electric, though, the classic one). He simply loved typing, and as a headteacher, he had many occasions to do so :o) Thank you for the nostalgia trip, I have realized I am turning to my memories in these difficult times as well.
We used to dog-ear the pages where we found something that we liked or for someone else to buy. Sometimes we would circle the picture too. We did the same in the JC Penny catalog too.
Mary I just want to tell you I love so much. Watching your vids for a long time now I feel like you are a big sis to me and a close friend who chat and gossip with me. Sorry I don’t know how to put it in words 😅 it’s just amazing how some people become so familiar to us when we’ve not even met. ❤️ wish you a happy new year 🥳
This is brilliant Mary! I was born in 81 :) I'm English so we didn't have this particular catalogue, but we had an Argos one which was pretty much the same thing. What a blast from the past watching this! Haha
I was 14 that year, so I wouldn't have circled any toys, but I'm sure I had some fashionable clothing circled, lol! And I had a puffy sleeved white blouse for concert choir that you can bet I got at Sears. 😄
Ah a trip back to my childhood! I snickered when it came to the housecoat-my mom was also a huge fan of those. One Christmas she tried to get me one. We exchanged it for some kitchenware.😜
I never saw these, even once. I would guess because I grew up in poverty and when I was small enough for these, my Mom didn't have two dollars to spend on a book that would tempt me with toys she couldn't afford....I didn't know these even existed until now. A Sears catalogue you had to buy?? Mind blown!
My folks had the exact VCR at 24:45! The little compartment on the righthand side held the tracking control and, iirc, a slider switch for the recording speed.
The inflation tool says that the Rolls-Royce toy car would be $1220.60 today if it was $500 in 1985 😯 wow! What a cool catalog! Thanks for sharing with us!
I’m Italian and I was born in 1996 so I wasn’t expecting to find anything that would make me nostalgic, but I had a Bontempi keyboard and I loved it so much, I still own the song booklets 🤧
Gosh I know you said the audio isn't that great but it reminds me of the older asmr videos and it's wonderful! I think the term for this is called lofi?
love, loveeeeeeee !!!!! I love this channel my girls always ask me mamá estas viendo a la mujer que habla suave? jajajajaja and then they go away, they know is my free time. lol
My dad told me they would just rent their VCR when they went to rent movies because it was cheaper and then VCRs where really cheap when I was a baby so we still have one and a billion VCR tapes 😂.
I really enjoyed this, thanks so much, Mary! I could imagine a young Charity wanting that Rolls Royce so bad! Maybe her parents couldn't afford it and that's what made her snap and decide she needed to net herself a sugar daddy, lol. I could also imagine Carl having some "interesting" memories associated with this catalog and Christmas in general. I could imagine a whole video--or series--of Carl talking to a psychiatrist about his childhood...maybe after being court ordered to see one after some sort of unfortunate incident or "misunderstanding" as he'd say. 🤣 Happy New Year, btw.
I love how you find the beauty in all the small things Mary.
“You could put your cigarettes, your wallet, and cocaine in there” I’m crying 🤣🤣🤣 love a good left handed zinger in asmr
I LOLLED at that, too !!
Mary is our gal for those qualities 😆🙏🏽
I was on break, shopping online, at work- paused and rewinded the video to see if- yep, she just said that!
I was dozing off when I heard it and now I can't stop laughing!
There’s one bad thing about Mary’s videos: I want to sleep, but I don’t want to miss a moment😅 They’re just so darn creative!
An entire series on the Wish Book? I’m so there! Yes! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was born January, 1985. I remember these books, loved them at Christmas time lol
happy birthday! month
So was my husband. But, I also remember these catalogues. I’m just hoping there’s a She-Ra or He-Man figurine set in this. I remember JCPENNY catalogues that were like this! Oh man, to go back and look through those things again. :)
The nostalgia! I remember my sisters and I would go through and circle what we wanted for Christmas
OMG!! The memories!! My mom used to have me and my brother go through and circle what we wanted for Christmas with a pen. 😄 Thanks for sharing and awesome find! I would LOVE to see a pointer/whisper/soft spoken video. :)

Oh my gosh Mary this takes me back to going to my grandmas house and looking at her Sears and JCPenney books! I love this new series 💜
I was six years old in 1985! I can’t wait to go through this book with you. ❤️
I actually really like the audio. It reminds me of some of your older videos when you first started your channel and I really enjoy watching those 😊
I love your take on this wish book. I enjoy your channel so much. I could listen to you forever. Thank you for your wonderful content!
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this wonderful piece of nostalgia with us. Can't wait to see each of the videos! 💜

Ah the good ole days! My brother and I would get so excited when these came in the mail. Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane 🙏✌️❤️
Mary, I LOVE this! I'm a bit older than you and I remember literally waiting by mailbox for the Wish Book to arrive.
Oh the house coat reminded me so much of my mom and I remember the year my sister and I got our own. I felt so grown up! ☺️☺️
Wow..more please! I was born in 80..I loved those books. It got me so excited for Christmas 🎄.
I love when I’m getting ready for bed and see you’ve uploaded a new video. It always feels like a treat 😊✨
“Probe cooking? That sounds invasive.” 🤣
In the UK we had the book of dreams, the Argos catalogue.
I was thinking the same! We would write our Xmas lists with page and catalogue number for mums quick finding lol
I used to circle everything I wanted in the argos book! The main thing I always wanted was a black pyramid that had makeup in it and in the very top was a lipstick!! But never got one!
Yes! Love nostalgic videos of back in the days! ❤❤❤
This brings back sooo many memories. Thank goodness you got it.
Oh my gosh, this was my senior year of high school. I remember that kind of ladies suit very well. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
I remember that book. I graduated Highschool in 1985. I also remember the J. C. Penny catalog.
Thank you so much for your videos, they have helped me so much with my anxiety. Happy New Year! 💕
I remember circling stuff in that catalog for Christmas.
Great video to relax and go to
Sleep with!! This book brings back so many memories!! I was born in 1956 so I checked them out many years..., Thank you Mary for doing a series on this.... love ya hon.. 🤗❤️
I have never been this excited about a series of videos!
I was super young in the late 70’s, but I do remember that when you would order something from the Sears catalog, that the store would call you when the item came in and if it was small enough like clothes, etc., then it would be put in a cubby and wrapped in brown paper for you to grab. Wow, this takes me back. Thank you so much for this one. It’s so much fun to see this stuff.
Aww man!!! This was my childhood!! I’m so here for this! 🥰🥰
This makes my Gen X heart so happy!
I was 5 😍. This is absolutely incredible. I LOVE it! I loved this one and I’m looking forward to every video with it!
Wow this is cool! I was born in '86! Great video!!!😊👍
Omg I was 4 when this book came out and I remember some of these items!! Awesome video, Mary!!!
Sears, was the equivalent of Amazon in its day.
Yay! I was hoping for a video from you and here it is, just in time. I was born in '85 so I'm super here for this, lol. Fun fact about the microwave, my grandparents still have a woodgrain White Westinghouse microwave they got when I was 3 and it still works.

I remember those catalogs. We would go threw them and pick stuff out for Christmas.
We went THROUGH them as children too.
@@terrigaines1812 (insert eyeroll)
@@sweetlistenings3324 Why the eye roll? I didn't do ANYTHING wrong.
I love you for this. My childhood has returned. 🎁

I wasn't born till the next year but these catalogs... oh man, we waited for the mailman to bring these to the house. Circled all the toys I wanted 💖
This is great! I remember looking through this one and the JCPenney catalog.
I love looking at these books .I remember them
Oh that typewriter! My dad used to have similar one (not the electric, though, the classic one). He simply loved typing, and as a headteacher, he had many occasions to do so :o) Thank you for the nostalgia trip, I have realized I am turning to my memories in these difficult times as well.
I did an inflation calculator on Google for the suit of armor. I had to know. It would cost $7,200 today!! 🤓😜😳
I need to know where they all are... someone had to buy one! There's got to be at least one out there!
We used to dog-ear the pages where we found something that we liked or for someone else to buy. Sometimes we would circle the picture too. We did the same in the JC Penny catalog too.
I enjoy hearing the train in the background of your videos
Oh gosh, I used to LOVE getting those wish books when I was a kid! I wish I had kept them.

Omg!!! I’m dying of fashion anticipation lol I had flashbacks seeing the sneak peaks!!! Lovin This 🤗💕😂
I think my Grandma has that exact grandfather clock 23:06 Thank you for sharing Mary!!
I was 14 that year, so I wouldn't have circled any toys, but I'm sure I had some fashionable clothing circled, lol! And I had a puffy sleeved white blouse for concert choir that you can bet I got at Sears. 😄

Wow!! The memories!!! Thanks Ms Mary!!!!
I was born in 1984 and I don't remember the Sears wish book but I LOVED the other catalogues that came to the house. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I love the Christmas wish books well target or toys R us...that book is so cool I am shook with those items n prices lol xoxo
I never saw these, even once.
I would guess because I grew up in poverty and when I was small enough for these, my Mom didn't have two dollars to spend on a book that would tempt me with toys she couldn't afford....I didn't know these even existed until now. A Sears catalogue you had to buy?? Mind blown!

The year I was born, how neat !
Wow...things were a lot more pricy back then! I'm guessing this is when more of these items and their components would have been made domestically.
These are still used! I was born in 2007 and I used one of these when I was little.
I absolutely love this ❤❤
I’m Italian and I was born in 1996 so I wasn’t expecting to find anything that would make me nostalgic, but I had a Bontempi keyboard and I loved it so much, I still own the song booklets 🤧
I really wish I had a Sears suit of armor! That is absolutely wild!!
My life stopped when that book arrived
You had me laughing too much to fall asleep to this one 😂😂😂😂
Sears selling a suit of armor in 1985 is sending me
As a child.. my brother and I would study the wish books.. 😊
You just took me back! 🥰
Hey girl 🥰 I absolutely love listening to you abc your videos are the best! Give your kitties a pet for me ❤️
Abc?
I had one of the rainbow sleeping bags!!
Gosh I know you said the audio isn't that great but it reminds me of the older asmr videos and it's wonderful! I think the term for this is called lofi?

Anyone else circle one thing from each page?? If you have to choose ONE item.... I’m going to recognize this!!!! I used to stare and dream !!!!
You post at 11:53 it’s like you know I am pulling a all nighter
AN all nighter?! You must be a college student.
I really enjoyed this, thanks so much, Mary! I could imagine a young Charity wanting that Rolls Royce so bad! Maybe her parents couldn't afford it and that's what made her snap and decide she needed to net herself a sugar daddy, lol.

This is amazing
I was born in '85 so this is really interesting!
The year I was born
The VCR we had was crazy expensive and had a remote that had a cord 😂
It's like going back to the past, releasing the inner child.
