A website is always a solid investment. As a consumer, I will not hire any contractor without even a basic website. It shows a level of professionalism and commitment. Now things like a truck wrap and whatever, who cares. You can spend $100 per year for a basic but professional looking website. Or if bad with tech, hire a guy like me for $500 for a 1 time cost to create one in a matter of hours.

It happens so often with every single business, sometimes the owner gets caught on the idea of “showing a better look” to the customers. It’s very common to see small and medium companies with a full front desk with receptionist or a secretary while they are struggling with every day activities that are key for the actual customers

As far as I’m concerned they can all wither away into nothing. I was scammed by a roofing company in Jacksonville Florida. Worked full time for an entire month, signed my first deal and after a month and landing a deal they fired me for missing a morning meeting because I was struggling to make ends meet so was doing Uber and got rear ended 20 minutes before I was due to be at the office. They lied about how soon you get paid for your deal, kept pushing back the pay date. They were hiring people, letting them work for free for about a month and firing them right before they signed the contract to begin the work. What a shady business. Sucks because I love your work and what you teach, but I don’t think I’ll ever do d2d for roofing ever again because it put me in such a hole that will take months to climb out of. Shady industry, what a shame.

Best investment for a roofer? Someone who can talk to insurance adjusters. Had a few missing shingles on my roof. Called some roofers, and they had my insurance out there and explained how it was wind damage and that the repair would require the whole roof to be replaced. That dude had to have been worth his weight in gold to the roofing company!

A website isn’t a crappy investment, it’s a necessity to compete and even be found by potential clients.

Not sure if this relevant. But How long do you think it would take for a roofing canvass team to see consistent success?
An example: for a Roofing company that has only sold metal, sales reps do not knock doors or generate business without marketing. Do you think those reps are capable of selling more than reps that have put in the everyday leg work of a company that makes reps knock doors
