I lived there two years...I lived with a middle aged couple who spoke no English..so I learned a lot of 'allerdags ' dutch . .they were very patient and taught me a lot ...what I miss is the conversations...de praatjes..

I understand what you mean haha im from belgium myself and trying to learn flemish is a bit harder then just plain dutch. Every city/village has almost its own dialect. So for example if you would learn plain flemish in Limburg you probably wouldnt even understand how the people talk in West-Vlaanderen (western of the flanders). Even i almost dont understand everything they say. As they also dont really say the letter G 😆

To all non dutch people: this is really professional, in real life when for example i say goodbye to my friends or family i never say dag or doei. I ussualy just say later or joe. This basically means the same but later is just the abbreviation of tot later, which litteraly translated means until later.
We often say "doei", " hoi hè", "Later", "de ballen", "dag", "tot sinas", "de friemels", "we bellen" , "doeg", etc. In a lesson it makes no sense to mention all possible ways because that would be too much information and very confusing. And "dag" and "doei" are the most common standard ways to say an informal goodbye. So to me it seems like a perfect way to teach the basic dutch.

That's the equivalent to teaching someone how to ride a bicycle by teaching them how all the parts on the bicycle work together and then putting them on the bike to ride it. In theory it would work but most people learn by doing rather than just learning grammar and pronunciation rules. You can add those in as you go. Most people can pick them up too.

My Dutch friends told me that they don't use "in orde" as to say "alright", they might use it to say that something specifically is alright, like "thanks, my leg is alright[.....in orde]", but they never just say it like this
I'm Dutch. "in orde" is almost never used. Only in business settings sometimes. And in those cases its meaning is actually very similar to "correctly ordered/handled/organized"

As a dutch person i dont think i have actually ever heard someone introduce themselves like "Goedendag ik heet (name) aangenaam" And tbh i dont see that much of a difference between formal and informal language here in daily life. Its really common if you are being too formal that people will tell you to chill or that they feel old or distant when you use "u" etc.

The concept of formal and informal is not difficult. It's the same in most languages. but you need to say things a lot slower. Even pausing | couldn't get it. "Luek je te ontmoeton". I can't go any further then.
De schrijfwijze van s'avonds is niet correct. De juiste spelling is: 's avonds. De '-apostrof+s staat voor "des" en is een afkorting van "des avonds" oftewel "van de avond".
Dutch is spoken in the Netherlands. In the northern half of Belgium they speak Flemish, very similar to Dutch but with different expressions and accents
I'm sorry but no one really says "dank u zeer" in the Netherlands, maybe sometimes the king or someone that is 85+ years old. If you want to say "thank you' with a little extra, just say "heel erg bedankt". Or without the extra: "bedankt/dankjewel/dankuwel."

De schrijfwijze van s'avonds is niet correct. De juiste spelling is: 's avonds. De '-apostrof+s staat voor "des" en is een afkorting van "des avonds" oftewel "van de avond".

Dutch is spoken in the Netherlands. In the northern half of Belgium they speak Flemish, very similar to Dutch but with different expressions and accents

I'm sorry but no one really says "dank u zeer" in the Netherlands, maybe sometimes the king or someone that is 85+ years old. If you want to say "thank you' with a little extra, just say "heel erg bedankt". Or without the extra: "bedankt/dankjewel/dankuwel."
