In this video we will look at a few different jobs with birds of prey. As a career in traditional falconry is kind of a thing of the past, there are still many viable careers with birds of prey including as a zoo keeper at both a regular zoo or a falconry centre, mobile bird of prey businesses, working in wildlife conservation, falconry pest control, scientific research, and even aviculture, the breeding of birds of prey.

I work for a large pest contol company flying 2 Harris hawks mainly for gull control. The mixed sites that I work at is great. I go to pubs, airports football grounds, marina's etc anywhere you see gulls could possibly be a customer. Great for the hawks they have an incredibly varied day must be very stimulating for they. It's the best job, the birds seem to thrive on it. I have only been doing the job for 18 months but can easily say it's the best job I've ever had. I would say that if you want to get into pest control it would be best to work for one of the big boys that way you don't have to worry about getting the work for yourself so much, just go out every day and fly. what could be more fun for you and your hawks. 😊
I did it full time for a couple of years and it just really showed me how much I love doing displays so now I just sub contract. But if your not into displays I can see how pest control can be an amazing career

Hi Dan this video is exactly what I needed. Having done events with bird when I was a kid trying to make this into a job in the future was very difficult but I like the sound of pest control
Great video Dan pest control sound like a good fit for me and I hope to open a falconry center here in the the Midwest USA that has the largest variety of birds in this part of the country I’m going to a falconry meet nest weekend I’m volunteering at two wildlife center that have a nice Barry’s of raptor species and taking a wildlife rehabilitation class next month attending a few falconry experiences in may during one of which I’ll get to lure fly a falcon. I enjoy watching your videos while I wait for the weather to warm up so I can be able to handle the birds.

there are job positions in the arabian peninsula where people have many falconry birds
Hi Dan (my favourite falconry youtuber) hope your well! What an amazing list of the jobs with birds of prey. My uncle has an A.A.L and when we do displays it's really amazing to see the birds in action keep the amazing work coming, your the best ❤

We have a lot of freedom with birds of prey here but it definitely comes with a lot of issues too!
@@MercerFalconry I think that's because English culture is very proud of some archaic or medieval traditions, on of those being falconry, and of the reasons I think chest and drawers are still preferred to wardrobes and cabinets
@gabrielebrasolin8073 could be, I personally just think the government don’t want to put any kind of regulations on it because it would cost them time and money to do
