Hello beautiful people! I apologize for the video inconsistencies lately and I will be sure to make it up to y’all with 3 videos this week ❤️❤️❤️ In the meantime, comment down below if you’ve moved to a new country before and share some experience with us... I wanna read 🥺
Yes my dear I moved to the UK for schooling and let me tell you it has not been easy I am currently under the government housing facility aka caravan basically a container and this pandemic has not been good on me I am currently jobless.
Hey, i live in Alberta too just moved here a few years ago. I'm a Caribbean girl😊😊. My adjustment was actually easy because my husband was already here so just my daughter and I came later. I admire your character. Where in Alberta are you?
I am from Grenada and went to the UK for university at 16. I kid you not I cried everyday for 3 months straight. I stuck with it because I got a scholarship from my country and didn't want to disappoint my parents. The culture shock was real and the subtle racism was so disheartening. Thank God for his mercies I graduated 3 years ago and was adamant that I was staying in the Caribbean to do my masters, which I did. Graduating in Novemeber with my MSC.
You are a strong girl, I can't imagine coming at that age. I came to the 🇺🇸 for graduate school when I was 29 and it was still hard for me. Thank God for His grace over you.
😂 you don’t fake accent.. the more you socialize the more you pick up the way they talk but when you’re speaking to someone from Africa it switches back
I'm so proud of you for completing and graduating. I understand, it took me 18 years to complete my first degree. I have now completed two Master's degrees. Hang in there and continue to strive for great things!!
This is a big encouragement for me today, it came in at the right time.... I believe God for a change on story, Amen.. Thanks for sharing, love you gal.
I loved how you shared a bit of yourself and your life in this video. I never would have guessed any of these things about you either. You made me laugh, you made me cry. Most of all I feel encouraged. Thank you!
Ok so I’ve just finished watching, laughing and crying all at the same time! 🤣. I moved to the USA for grad school and boy the going was tough especially with finances. Am also the oldest you never wanna watch your parents struggle to make ends meet simply because you what to go to school. I love you the more sis ❤️
I dont know how I can relate to someone this much. It's my 2nd year in Canada as an international student and my dear, I totally understand everything. I've got 5 siblings too and It seems like you know I really needed to watch this video. Thank you for this.
Adanna, I have lurked for too long and I love your videos, so sometimes, I just sit on your channel watching videos just for entertainment. Today, you have opened up and I respect your strength and resilience. For as young as you are, you have really done very well for yourself and today, I am clicking that SUBSCRIBE button.

I can so relate. The financial aspect for me was a huge burden. I was not prepared. The one thing that saved me was going to community college. It was cheaper and I was able to get refunds.
@@crissoa please do u mean u can switch in the second yr from Univetsity to College with no issue? Please am asking all these questions because i plan to go there this yr by God's grace
@@enowetenneng9787 you can take some credits at a community college and transfer to a 4 year university. Basically after the second year at a community college, you can transfer to a university. Community college is like the first two years of a university. I recommend starting off at a community college because it’s far cheaper. For example, in California, it would cost about $45/ unit and so for a 3 unit class, you would pay $135 and for a four unit class you’d pay $180. The equivalent at a four year would be about $600-$800. If you use financial aid, you’d pay nothing. You may even get some money back which you may not have to pay back- if it’s a grant and not a loan. Of course if you’re a non citizen of the US, you would be paying international prices. I still strongly suggest community college for those who are just starting out. It’s the same education you’re getting for cheaper. Forget what you’re told about community college. I was told the same and I graduated from a community college with a degree in nursing.
@@crissoa oh my dear sis, thank u so much gor this advise. I had HND in banking and finance, i am hoping to divert to do nursing ,but i did not do biology in secondary school, pls i want to know if truely iys possible and the stress rate. Also i have 4 to 5 yrs school gap after my HND.
@@enowetenneng9787 nursing is definitely a great idea! Don’t worry about what you did in high school. In fact, if you have a Nigerian degree, don’t even bring it up because it may affect your financial aid. I didn’t do sciences in secondary school/ besides bio which was compulsory. For nursing, please don’t kill yourself trying to get into a big name school. All you need to do is pass your NCLEX. If you go to a community college, you can get your associates in nursing and you can still work as a nurse. It’s cheaper that way. You can go on an get your bachelors degree completely online while working as a nurse. Anybody can become a nurse. Is it stressful, yes I won’t lie. The course can be tiring. Hopefully you have family in the US who can accommodate you while you study. I have a suggestion, try and work as a CNA because not only will you be making money, in some nursing schools, they require you have your CNA while some work on a point system and give priority to those who have their CNA. CNA is a certificate. Don’t do it at a community college because it takes maybe four months. In private schools, you can do it in as little as four weeks.

My best friend dealt with something similar going to college in the US coming from the Islands. She's had to figure life out for herself all the while staying on top of things with college. She had to do 5 years instead of the regular 4 because they didn't take her previous credits from her college on island. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️She's on her last semester now so she'll make it through. Your story IS DEFINITELY inspiring. Will definitely send this to her . 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Congratulations on graduating from college 🙌👏 I didn't know you were Nigerian. My daughter is half Nigerian and African American. I just subscribed to your channel this morning after watching your video on box braids 😂 thank you for sharing your story.💚💛♥️🖤🤗
You keep doing great work!!! I have had a professor try some madness like that. My Degree is in Criminology. First, she love all my papers until she asked the class to discuss rather women of color are policed different from white women. I gave references and facts she gave me a C on that paper. I emailed her telling her I would be to her office the next morning, then to the Dean's office. She emailed me back and changed the grade of my paper to a B+.. Yes, lil Sis God is always working!
Thank you for keeping it real. I appreciate your honesty. I also like how you explain your how to videos. I want to try the box brades using rubberband.
I salute your courage and I must say I love all your videos. I definitely can relate with you studying abroad is not easy especially being by yourself with no one to give you adequate information is not fun either in the classrooms or online. I had a similar experience when I relocated to the U.S, after I started school , I didn't understand a thing that was taught as a matter of fact I still struggle with some classes where you will be wondering what the professor was teaching but I must say that your school was really super strict on the plagiarism issue what you did was not enough to want to expel you or even give you zero after all the hard work. I also can relate with the fact that you had to take a year off I had to take more than a year and right now its like my seventh year for a four year course I had to go on maternity leave and change jobs here and there but hoping to graduate next year spring by God's grace. It is really not easy for Nigerians studing abroad but with hard work and never giving up we always achieve our goals. Congratulations girl! Thanks for sharing your experience keep soaring in all your endeavors.
Awww Adanna you are a whole queen! Thank you for giving me all this hope. Am going through all this Uni application wahala and its really not easy. Love you all the way!!
You are so talented. I enjoy your channel. Thanks for being positive and encouraging everyone. You are so courageous. I am glad you overcame your obstacles. Stay blessed ❤️
I am so happy you shared your experience. Girl yes pls do more of the chat videos abput life lessons and more. Any topic. I can relate I have taken time off from college and still have not went back. However I am planning on it very soon. Thank you for saying what you said we may start together but all of our journeys are different but it's alright where you are in life.
AdaBeke AKA LadyGaga!! LOL...I'm so excited to see you grow despite all the hurdles and setbacks! You're strong and a big inspiration to so many...Thank GOD we dont look like what we go through🙏🙏 More Blessings ahead Hunnay!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Maybe international students will do better online, bcuz they will be able to read the information and not have to decipher the Canadian accent and local vernacular. I was born and raised in Canada 🇨🇦 from Haitian 🇭🇹 parents, but I live in the US now. I loved your channel, bcuz it gave me so many ideas to use on my TWA after I big-chopped my hair; but I got even more excited knowing you are in my home country 🤩 I hope you have a good experience there.
I remember one day we had classes all day...your baby girl did not have money for lunch..I just went to library and hid in one corner...remove my garri and suger put in a bowl..add my water...👌🤤
See me crying and laughing , I admire your strength and perseverance ....wishing you the very best In all your endeavors....and yes you got a new subbie 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Same here. I moved in 17 I’ve hard 3 warnings on plagiarism. Didn’t know why it was such a big deal to them but I had to learn to stop to avoid being penalized the next time. Thank you for the video
Respect...sure glad you learnt, even though slowly. The big deal includes (1) you are not letting your own Creativity flow (2) if you do not show the Bibliography/Source then you are stealing, you are not giving the original Author honor -dissing him/her (3) You are revealing your own major character flaw. (4) It shows that you lack that specific knowledge or the foundation...so read more, research more...educate, educate, educate "Plagiarism" belongs in the Writing Convention, and awareness starts in Junior High School. Every writer/student will do well to recognize "plagiarism." Authors, Poets, Artists, Musicians et al must protect their PRODUCTS. Also, do not forget that these folks always give back to Society via various Charities. Hope this helps other International Students. Blessings! Ma'at

SO HAPPY YOU FOUND YOUR WAY, AND YOU FOUND TH-cam IS GREAT.💙♥✌
Thank you that's so encouraging to me struggling in another country right now
Thank you for keeping it real. I appreciate your honesty. I also like how you explain your how to videos. I want to try the box brades using rubberband.
girl I've been there too....I also got in trouble for plagiarism...but hey we both bounced back
I salute your courage and I must say I love all your videos.

Happy for your growth babe 😘❤️❤️ Greater things are coming

God will continue blessing you dear because you are grateful to Him .
I’m so glad it all worked out!!
Same here. I moved in 17 I’ve hard 3 warnings on plagiarism. Didn’t know why it was such a big deal to them but I had to learn to stop to avoid being penalized the next time. Thank you for the video
Respect...sure glad you learnt, even though slowly.
The big deal includes (1) you are not letting your own Creativity flow
(2) if you do not show the Bibliography/Source then you are stealing, you are not giving the original Author honor -dissing him/her
(3) You are revealing your own major character flaw.
(4) It shows that you lack that specific knowledge or the foundation...so read more, research more...educate,
educate, educate
"Plagiarism" belongs in the Writing Convention, and awareness starts in Junior High School.
Every writer/student will do well to recognize "plagiarism."

Hope this helps other International Students. Blessings!
