Watching Ant Middleton makes me look back at the opportunities thrown away by not joining the military as a lad. The Royal Marines is it's own thing for sure but I was far too political at the time of the Iraq war to go anywhere near that type of thing. I don't think I'm alone in that and not the fault of the military. I came of age like many others like me when the internet started to get big and access to information got a bit easier e.g. wikileaks. Oh well, one can always look back at missed opportunities.
