I love how he officially became a guardian at the place he died, and there’s a sneaking suspicion that Jamie is a descendant of Jacks little sister since he looks just like her👀
Of course Sandman is the strongest: Not every child celebrates Christmas or Easter, milk teeth don't fall out every day, but EVERY child dreams, as does every adult, but we rarely remember our dreams when we wake up. So Sandman is the most active, the best known and therefore the strongest of the Gurdians
And the reason Pitch was afraid of Sandman was that the nightmares weren't his power. It was dreams he stole from Sandy. Coprrupted dreams. You saw how easily Sandman could take them back when he touched one. That's why, at the end, they turned on Pitch. He didn't have total control over them. Also, one of my favorite things was showing that the Tooth Fairy's power worked in reverse too. Her whole deal is that if you leave her a tooth, she leaves you money. When she tossed Pitch a quarter and he kept it, that meant she was entitled to one of his teeth. That's how she was able to hurt an immortal.
There's a blue sky film called Epic based on another work of William Joyce where the protagonist is named after her late daughter Mary Katherine that this film is dedicated to her.
One of my favourite theories about this movie is that Pitch is also a Guardian. He protects the children’s physical safety (stay home at night because the Boogeyman will get you, but also because the world is legitimately dangerous), but he also teaches them to face their fears. The creepy shadows look like they may attack you until you face your fear of the unknown, turn on the light, and realise it’s just the curtains. However, the Man in the Moon didn’t see the value in Pitch’s role and created the Guardians to take it away, leaving Pitch with an important job to do and no real way to do it. And he’s been stuck like that, with no friends and no believers, for at least 500 years (the end of the Dark Ages). You can understand why he might be a tad upset. Obviously, this theory is movie only. The books have their own backstory for Pitch, but the two series are only partially related
@@GalaxyGeeksIt's a good theory for the movie, but Pitch's backstory in the books is very different (and actually pretty dark, for a kid's book series)
Jamie would make a great Guardian. With his center being courage. Not many kids his age would be able to face down the incarnation of fear itself and, genuinely, be unafraid enough to make him lose his power.
23:20 Yeah at least here in Italy the tooth mouse is a more common belief between kids. There's still someone that prefers the tooth fairy but little mice are more common.
I enjoy this film very much. I like the story of these iconic beings going around and protecting children from nightmarish figures, like the boogie man. It’s very cool. I also like how we focus on Jack Frost finding his place in the world as well, it made for a gripping tale and got me emotionally invested in the character. This film is really entertaining and exciting imo, honestly deserves more appreciation.
This is based off of a series of kids’ chapter books written and illustrated by William Joyce. Totally check out another movie that he worked on, Meet the Robinsons.
In the end this film is dedicated to William Joyce's daugher Mary Katherine who passed away but name a protagonist after her in a blue sky film called Epic based on another work of william joyce!
23:10 I guess it meant that not all people in all countries in the world believe in the Tooth Fairy or have a practice, lore, belief, culture, tradition, custom, ritual or legend about it. 😅 The mouse in that scene is just one of the mice who does what the Tooth Fairy or what a Tooth Fairy does in other countries like the US but in some European countries, which they are the or their European versions or counterparts of the or a Tooth Fairy in some European countries, such as Ratón Pérez / Ratoncito Pérez / El Ratón Pérez / El Ratoncito Pérez / El Raton de los Dientes (Perez Mouse / Mouse Perez / Perez Little Mouse / Little Mouse Perez / Perez the Mouse / Perez the Little Mouse / The Mouse Perez / The Little Mouse Perez / The Tooth Mouse) in Spanish and Hispanic / Hispanic Latin American cultures, Topolino in Italy, L'Esquilu de los dientis (The Tooth Squirrel) in Cantabria, Spain (but its a squirrel instead of a mouse), and the La Petite Souris (The Little Mouse) in France and Wallonia / Walloon Region, Belgium. 😄 🇵🇭 Here in the Philippines, specifically in my nuclear family and household, we did believe and practice before that a kid's milk tooth or baby tooth needs to be thrown on top of our own house's roof, so that a rat or mouse will get it and replace our lost tooth with a new one (our permanent tooth) or, sometimes even jokingly or to scare kids, or as an additional belief, to replace our lost tooth with a bigger tooth, a rat's or mouse's tooth, or the specific rat's or mouse's tooth, somewhat similar to it, or a resemblance of it, from the same rat or mouse which got or had our tooth from the roof of our house, and the belief and practice don't involve any money or the like in return, just or only about regrowing our lost tooth with a new one, and the rats or mice or any specific rat or mouse doesn't have any special name or title. 😄 Unfortunately, we dont believe and practice this anymore, especially because we don't have anymore kids in our family and household. ☹️ I don't know, and I'm not sure if they or if they still do believe and practice this in each of my extended family's households, or if our neighbors in our local community also believe and practice this. 🤔 I never checked on top of their roofs to prove or disprove if they also believe and practice this, or if they at least once believed and practiced this. 😂

Something I noticed is that Jack started out not gelling with the Easter Bunny but more easily got on with North and then the others.. because of the opposition of Winter and Spring.. like Bunny does work with North but he also seemed to not always be on board with him.. I think they all have a natural affinity to their respective holiday/season.. and thus Tooth and Sandy who work all year are the easiest to get along with, they have no "natural rivalry" to have to get through And that "natural rivalry" is probably why Pitch was so afraid of Sandy, nightmares vs good dreams.. Sandy is probably the most powerful Guardian because *everyone* sleeps so everyone dreams... and this is probably why Jack is so powerful too, he is different than North, Bunny, and Tooth, he is more a force of nature with how.. winter kinda just.. exists naturally.. Also.. they said the Man in the Moon created pretty much all the spirits that people believe in.. so was Pitch like one of the first? It would make sense that Manny could be like "yo I goofed, time to make more magic people that does this right" and also... maybe the similarity to Jack and Pitch was on purpose.. Manny chose someone good this time.. notice how Pitch when unseen kinda festered in his own anger at everyone.. Jack just rolled with it and had some fun.. and also.. Manny waited to make Jack a Guardian, right when Pitch made his return.. he let Jack be his own person so he'd be able to actually help the Guardians rediscover the true meaning of their position.. like Jack said they all hold up in their "hideouts" and don't actually see the kids.. like they all do stuff when kids are asleep, sure the kids believe but the Guardians rarely *see* the kids they just maybe get glances once in awhile Btw a fan theory I have seen is the reason Jaime still had some good dreams while all his friends were having bad dreams is that Sandy somehow like.. hid in his dreams.. and that is also why it was Jaime that kickstarted the "revival" of Sandy

I know it personally from an animated movie called Pérez from 2006, but It's well known in Hispanic American cultures...or alteast should be based on the origin
If I had to say something about this movie, it would be that it certainly was unique but I didn’t really enjoy it when I first watched it many years ago and even all these years later I don’t think it’s bad. It’s just not something I would rewatch.
Fair enough honestly. I disliked this movie for many years but now I think I've grown to appreciate its simplicity of 'the tale of a hero' and what it means to find your purpose. It doesn't have the swells and emotional connection other movies with the same themes do but it's special in its own way.
Highly recommend the book series this is based off by William Joyce. The movie is great but the books are ten times better. Tons more lore and characters. Each guardian gets their own book and it all ties in beautifully. William Joyce was the same dude who created Meet The Robinsons, George Shrinks, and Rolie Polie Olie.
I LOVE fruit cake. but only my own fruitcake. I usually make it around about this time of year and seal it up in the fridge to age for Christmas. Every 3or 4 days I take it out, unwrap it and spritz it with brandy. So, so good. but you gotta use real fruit, not those candy colored cherry bits.
hmm honestly not for sure, I think we will have a better answer as we react to more dreamworks movies but maybe the how to train your dragon movies! and this friday is deadpool and wolverine!
