Hey Mickey! I've been watching your videos a lot as of late and have become a big fan, since I'm gonna be in Colorado for the first time this summer and plan on summiting a 14er. Just wanted some quick advice, so I've never climbed or even seen a mountain high enough for a treeline in my life, and I'm gonna be staying right next to Long's Peak. I'm 20 and run long distance everyday, so physically I think I'd be fine, but I literally have no idea how I'd be with the exposure and other fear-inducing elements. Do you think it would be fine to try if I'm adequately researched and geared up, or would it be safer to attempt another 14er close by? If you think the latter is better, which would you recommend? I'm up for a challenge, but don't want to be unrealistic or put myself in too much danger. Thanks!
I'm not Mickey, but I have hiked Longs (keyhole route) and sounds like you'll be fine. It's not as scary as it's made out to be, the scrambling is intuitive, and there's a lot of people on the mountain to help. Start early (we started at 2am) and don't feel ashamed to bail if weather/altitude sickness/fear of heights, etc. doesn't work out. Trying something easier like Mount Bierstadt could be worth it to see how your body reacts to the altitude.
Not in the cards, the crowds and cost are not my jam. However, would love to get after some challenging and technical hikes in the future. Welcome to the channel!
I love your page, the only problem is it seems like you don’t like people. You get upset anytime you run into anyone. I get you go into nature for solitude, but it would be like a bird being angry running into another bird in flight. It’s bound to happen.
you are not wrong and why is that a problem for "my page"? I keep it real and say things that are on my mind (that a lot of people relate to). I can't tell you that its always logical, but for me - Nature is a place to go to escape seeing people. I don't hate that (most) others are there, but it gives me a ton of anxiety when dealing with others on a hike - esp when filming. If you don't like that honesty, this channel prob isnt for you

Just started watching your videos last night, I was wondering do you think you’ll ever attempt Mt.Everest ?

Thanks to your video on Quandary Peak, I now feel confident to attempt it this summer.
