Gorgeous. Hands down my favourite soundtrack. Williams really captures the autumnal melancholy of the film, and let's not forget its source material in Anne Tyler's marvelous novel. Speaking of her--when oh when will 'A Patchwork Planet' reach our TV or cinema screens? One of my favourite novels of all time.

This is a fantastic movie and soundtrack. The cast is incredible. Kathleen Turner plays against type here which shows how incredible of a dramatic actress she is! Bill and Geena were incredible as well.
I LOVE it when a character (Hurt) has a realization as to the beauty & majesty of the Universe -- what it is, who has it, where it can be found, why it exists. Macon comes to appreciate something bigger than himself, something more loving than anything he ever imagined. That's the "visuals". And then there's John Williams who provides (from the fullness of his heart) the "sounds". Ain't life GREAT?????????????????

I'm here thinking of William Hurt who has recently passed away. This was one of his finest films with a heart rending score by John Williams.
Great a glass of wine, moonlight or sunlight, quiet, a relfection of life, precious like a pearl in your heart, beautiful.
